Is it just me or is outing a CIA agent just not that funny?
There was a conservative flack accusing Ariana Huffington of not having a sense of humor for not thinking that Rove's littlle rap was funny but rather was "weird". To me this is in the same category as joking about racial issues and then saying, "Get over it. It was a joke." as if that somehow makes it all better. To me it is just not funny to be joking about outing a CIA agent for political purposes, anymore than joking about looking for the WMDs which were used as a pretext for war was funny on the part of Bush. Am I humor impaired? Or was Rove's little rap about treason indeed "weird."

I think that what we witnessed was a true redundancy....Rove is an obscenity speaking obscenities, acting obscenely ... and yes.. it IS treason, but the Republicons apparently think treason is funny... go figure

:hi:

4. You probably don't think a lot of things are funny
For example, kicking the crutches out from under someone at the top of a flight of stairs. It doesn't mean you're humor-challenged; it means you're right-wing humor-challenged. And decent people know there's a big difference between ordinary humor and right-wing humor. To swipe an old joke, right-wing humor is to humor as martial music is to music.

5. Twisted GOP logic...
... they laugh at 3K soldiers dead while mockingly for WMDs (Ooops, it must be here... hehehehehehehehhheeee)
... they poke fun at wounded veterans by wearing purple heart band-aids
... they think people who mismanage the response to America's worst natural disaster are doin' a "heck of a job"
... they OK the funneling of billions to a company that just moved their headquarters to Dubai
... they can fire prosecutors at will if they don't toe the party line
... they can out one of the people in charge of overseeing the non-proliferation policies around the globe again for not toeing the party line
... they love small government but GOP presidents are responsible for the biggest deficits in world history
... they love small government but they have no problem surrendering other people's privacy to the gov
... they love small government but they have no problem with the government dictating what you can put in your body, or what you can do with it for that matter
... they hate welfare queens (codeword for poor black people) but have no problem with corporate welfare being orders of magnitude worse
... they hate preventive health care but are OK with stockpiling useless weapons
... they love personal accountability as long as it is not theirs
... they love starting wars w/o any end as long as their kids don't have to fight them
... they love to call themselves Christians while ignoring that whole "thou shalt not kill", "love thy neighbour" nonsense
... they think Christianity is some sort of personal empowerment seminar to reach your true earning potential. I guess they did not get that memo that it was easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter heaven
... they hate science but they love triple-bypasses and intelligent weapons
... they hate abortions as much as providing welfare and support for those "saved" poor babies
... they hate euthanasia but they are OK with state-sanctioned death penalty
... they hate illegal immigrants because they take away jobs they would have never taken anyway
... they have no problem with the main force behind the prosecution of a president for having an affair, having an affair himself
... they couldn't stand having a first lady with her own agenda, as she was an unelected official, but they are OK with the President's political adviser, another unelected official, having almost unlimited access and range to policy
... they love America but they hate checks and balances
... they love the pledge of allegiance, but hate the original wording of it which was written by a socialist of all people
... they had no problem undermining democratic administrations during times of war but any sort of criticism to a GOP administration is an act of treachery
... they love GWB because he is a moral Christian man, but are not bothered the least by the fact that he never goes to church and can't quote any passage of the bible w/o coaching and
... they claim any act by the dem majority in congress is "politically" motivated, but have no problem with the President's political adviser making such accusations. Hello?

and on and on, in any other country the GOP would have been outlawed as it is more of a Cancer in its current incarnation than a real political party. The GOP's allegiance is with the GOP not the US of A, and as such it should be treated consequentially....

How any GOP mouthpiece is not run out of town tarred and feathered is beyond me. One day I would like the left in this country trying to make nice with people who are not only not reasonable, but lack any sort of humanity and compassion. The left sometimes seems like the battered wife that things the monster she married is still human and can be changed. Anytime that a GOP mouth piece open his/her mouth they should be made shown a reason why after Watergate, Iran-Contra, enabling Saddam, enabling Osama, Katrina, Iraq, allowing 9/11 to happen under their watch, Enron, secret energy commission, Haliburton, Plame, etc, etc, etc. Why on earth do they have the gall to open their mouth thinking they have any sort of moral authority.

7. Not funny--and neither is the fact that no one has been arrested.
The Rosenbergs were executed for less...

8. And the evidence against Cheney and Rove is probably greater than that
against the Rosenbergs as well, particularly Ethel Rosenberg, is my understanding.
