Anyone else just see Bill Press on CNN pumping up Hillary and dissing both Obama and Edwards
Bill Press, pundit and former head of the Democratic party in California, is in the tank for Hillary--along with the other CNN political analysts James Carville and Paul Begala. Where is Donna Brazile? Is it because she has expressed no preference in the Dem primary that we have not see her lately on CNN?

Some of the things Bill Press said...

Both Obama and Edwards are fading.

Obama is the "flavor of the month"

The "bloom is off the Obama rose."

Press had nothing but praise for Hillary, of course. This is starting to piss me off!

1. Am disappointed - generally like Bill Press
Follow the money - is he on retainer for Hillary?? (Or will he be soon?)

She has the money and orgaization to hire promoters (ala Vilsack) - but I repeat, I do not think she can win the general against anyone other than the most troglodyte Rethug candidate like Brownback.

2. Whatever happened to the Dem analyst's usual response that "we've got a number of great candidates."
You evidently will not hear this from the "Hillaries" at CNN--Begala, Carville, and Press.

I am not pleased that Bill Press dissed both of my "Anti-Hillaries."

3. CNN is House of Saud and House of Bush. BushInc will hedge their bets for 2008
If they cannot assure one of their own GOP faithful, then they will settle for a Coverup Democrat. They already know that Clinton2 will cover up for Bush2 because Clinton1 proved in his term a full willingness to cover up for Bush1.

8. Yes...saw it and noted what you saw. He's definitely a Hillary fan.
But, then, many here on DU are, also. I don't find a problem with that.

But, then, I'm waiting for the "Restoration of Gore."

11. Press: Should John Edwards Drop Out of The Race? His advice to Edwards. Forget the campaign.

Should John Edwards Drop Out Of The Race?
March 29, 2007

Vacationing in Ireland last week, I found little news from the United States in the local papers, with one exception: the news that Elizabeth Edwards’s breast cancer had returned. It was followed by headlines the next day that Elizabeth and John Edwards had decided his campaign for president would go forward.

As much as I admire their fighting spirit, I found myself asking: WHY?

Don’t get me wrong. I’m a huge John Edwards fan. He has the best message of all the Democratic candidates. He admits he made a mistake in 2002, voting to authorize the use of force against Iraq. He advocates getting our troops out of Iraq immediately. He’s the only Democrat in the race who has put forth a detailed plan for universal health care, including how to pay for it. He’s a great candidate. He’d make an outstanding president, and Elizabeth Edwards would make a great First Lady. The way she’s battled her cancer, with so much courage and determination, has made her an inspiration to every one of us.

And, believe me, I support whatever decision John and Elizabeth make together: whether to go forward with the campaign, suspend it or end it. It’s their call, and their call alone. They have to do what they believe is best for them.

But if I were in John Edwards’s shoes, my decision would be: Forget the campaign. There are higher priorities right now. Breast cancer’s a horrible disease. I know. I’ve been there with my wife Carol, three years ago. Cancer survivors live in constant fear it could flare up again any day. And now that it has come back to Elizabeth Edwards, I believe her health should come first.

9. I posted this on another thread, but it's quite topical...
Had an interesting conversation in my shop today ...
An older customer dropped by to pick up something he had ordered. I live in a very progressive community, but the outer lying regions of this county are 'middle of the road' to 'red'. We had a good chat about politics (he doesn't have TV or a computer, so I was able to catch him up on some things like the current scandals... which was fun!...)and the conversation got around to Hillary. We discovered we had both had family and aquaintences who 'swung' to Clinton in the day but even then still referred to him as "Slick Willy" and they HATED Hillary. Just because, and for no reason. They still hate her 15 years later. They would probably either go with the repub or not vote at all if Hillary was a choice. NAFTA isn't playing well anymore in Peoria either. In our unofficial opinions...Time to roll up the DLC and get back to a more populist approach...

...That 'money machine' everyone talks about that will get her the nomination...and give US another Republican president.

17. uh...so?
He's not allowed to have a primary pick just like all of us?

Why do I get the feeling that if he were praising Obama/Edwards, DU would have nothing but priase for him?

Simply Not Fair.
