Would the junior Senator from NY be up for VP?
......Why is noone mentioning Hillary Clinton for VP? Chris Matthews & Tim Russert used to specualte about her "swooping in" to Boston in July, and charging up the party. That would be a hell of the "swoop" if she was named VP candidate!! :pals:

1. I sure as hell hope not!
As a NYer and a progressive, I must say that I am not very pleased with my junior Senator for several reasons. Here are a few: IWR Her vote in favor of bankruptcy reform (after leading efforts to stop it while First Lady) Support of more stringent welfare reform measures Additionally, she's a very polarizing figure. I think she'd bring more negative baggage to the table than any positives she might contribute.

7. I completely agree ...
besides if she quits being Senator (and fails to win a position), her political career is over. Cheers Drifter

2. That would be an electoral disaster
You could kiss off most of the more culturally conservative battleground states: WV, AZ, FL and who knows how many others. Ignore any rumors -- this simply isn't going to happen.

3. RW uses HRC to get donations.
Nothing more. Nothing less. She's obviously quite happy to stay a Senator. However, I'd love to see Edwards-Schummer on the ticket. Those guys could really talk America into doing the right thing 100% of the time.

6. That would be a stupid idea
The right-wingers (and a lot of the more gullible independents) hate her guts, and the left wing of the Dem party considers her to be a sellout. It sounds like something Chris Matthews and Tim Russert would come up with out of sheer malice.

The repugs hate hillary even more then we hate bush. They would get out the vote in numbers never before seen.
