2. Yeah, but who on DU
has EVER endorsed that view? Who gives a flying fuck that the administration claims torture is effective? I'm not sure what your point is; everyone who's even marginally sane knows that torture and coercion- no matter who does it- is abhorrent.

4. I suspect the point
that's being made is, on the one hand, the Administration seems to be ignoring what the woman is saying about her experience at the hands of her captors in Iran because she might have been tortured. But then they insist that torture -- at least when American does it -- is an effective way to get honest information from "terrorists". It's just another one of those slippery double-standards they're trying to wrap themselves around.

3. And what is the deal about showing these people?
Did I just dream up all those guys in orange suits on TV. What is Gitmo a vacation spot now? Just who has put those pictures out and I hardly have to say a thing about Saddam and his sons. That was as bad as the telephone thing at the end of WW2. War and killing is not pretty on any one sides to me. I am sure these Brits feel safe knowing that the Iran people will most likely stick with the human rights of the USA. My God I have finally flipped. Bush and Blair have burned their brides and I fear we all will pay dearly for their little game.

6. They probably have burned their brides too...
in fact I'm sure * has (whether she knows it or not), but I think you meant they burned their bridges.

8. Bridges also. That is funny.
I looked at that for a long time and could not see what I had done. Proofreading in college was so bad for me. I started reading every thing back wards to find those errors. I seem to have the same trouble with numbers. It is like I put them in when they are not there or in the wrong place. Drives me nuts about myself.
