WIRED Gore profiler: Tipper has "zero enthusiasm" for Al Prez run

Earlier this evening on NPR Wired magazine writer Karen Breslow, who interviewed Gore over the course of several days for a current feature on his technology investments (Google, Apple, etc.) said that Gore took the same "has no plans" to run for President approach whenever she raised the issue.

Tipper, whom she described as Al's "number one advisor," was another story. She has "zero enthusiasm" for a presidential run, according to the author, who also spent a lot of time around her. For this reason primarily, Bresolow doesn't think Al's going to run. She also said Gore (as we know) has become quite wealthy through his investments and that he and Tipper are enjoying private life and the dynamism of the business world immensely.

And I hope Tipper keeps her nose out of things this time. Her whole fear of the rock 'n roll deal was nauseating...

Gore is the only sure win over Obama, methinks.

The moment Gore announces that he is running. Heck the moment he announces that he is not.

BTW no Obama flame from me. I like Clark, Obama, and as of yesterday, Edwards. ABC I guess.


And another thing... WIRED is responsible for "Al Gore Invented the Internet" because they refused to correct the record when they had the chance. Last I heard Tipper would support a run.

"If he were going to run in the future, of course I would support him," Tipper Gore told ABCNews' Claire Shipman in her first television interview in four years. "I think he'd be a fantastic president. He already got a majority of votes of people in this country once, and so that says something."

4. makes sense and good for him if he respects her feelings

if he were sitting on his ass doing nothing, I could see the argument that he should sacrifice his and her life for the good of the country. But he is doing something for the good of the world and it is something he believes in, enjoys and is good at.

I admire Al Gore greatly and I'd most likely support him if he ran (I'm currently undecided about a primary candidate). But I won't begrudge it if he and Tipper decline.
