Proof that the USA firings weren't about performance

I'll talk to Johnny.
I'm still a little skittish about Bogden.
He has been with DOJ since 1990 and at age 50 has never had a job outside of government.
My guess is that he was hoping to ride this out well into '09 or beyond.
I'll admit have not looked at his district's performance.
Sorry to be raising this again/now; it was just on my mind last night and this morning.

(Did not look at performance?!?)

2. Of course it's blatant
Part of the scheme was to ensure Repukes kept Congress, so they figured they would never have to turn over these documents

3. and the extensive emails from USA Chiara who was taken totally by surprise
She had financial issues and even got them to give her another job. Seems like she had them by the short hairs over time. She pissed and moaned and could't relate her being let go to the other firings. A real Repuke sob sister.

5. This was on CNN this morning. Thanks for posting it
I saw a comment on here that CNN was saying "nothing important" was in the emails (that was just a post on DU). I was wondering if this particular email was part of the regular reporting loop.

6. I like the subject line, too.
Re: USAllyPlan

Could it be any more obvious that this plan's entire intent and purpose was simply to pack US attorneys' offices with BushCo loyalists? They even gave the operation a descriptive title!

7. They do not need a reason
They could be fired for any reason...political, personal or based on clothing style. There does not even need to be a reason for the dismissal - like Reno did back in 94 or so. She sacked all 93 at once with no warning.

If we keep jumping all over every new little detail to try and trip them up, we look petty. There are impeachable war crime events occuring all the time. This is a small blip that will come to naught.

Just my pragmatic opinion.

9. Repuke talking point. It isn't unusual to fire them at the beginning of a presidency
Unprecedented to want to fire them all in the middle. Remember that these were Bush appointees.

We are moving into Nixon territory here, which is corruption for its own sake, rather than in defense of policies that some people might support for policy reasons.

17. You would have a point, maybe, if....
They were spinning it that they fired them just because they wanted to. (Although that has some problems considering what the USAs were and weren't investigating, and some little phone calls they received.)

But they are spinning that it was because of performance. And *that's* the reason this one has blown up in their faces. Good.

11. Of course, the firings WERE about performance
The attorneys fired were not performing as Bushoid KoolAid-Drinking PNAC puppets. As any despot would have said, they needed to be "eliminated"...

12. This is not proof. Careful not to put interpretation in as fact. I'll admit I haven't
looked at his performance is saying: "you may be right about his performance, I dont know"...

However there is fantastic proof in the docs that it is not about performance. The DOJ wrote a GLOWING letter about CArol Lam's performance and sent it to Issa and Feinstein. They leave no doubt that she does an excellent job. specifically about immigration, which is the area they said they fired her for... not enough indictments of illegals.

see document 1-1 page 44 and 45

hope this link will go to the letter.

Wolf Blitzer / Abby someone "his best news team"

My Email.

Subject:

Why didn't ABBY go a few sentences down? 3/20 3:12pm cst Doesn't your BEST know what NEWS IS?

Wolf et all..

Paul McNulty DID NOT LOOK AT THIS MAN'S PERFORMANCE..

The White House wants NO testimony under oath, no transcripts and of the attorneys dismissed at least ONE didn't have his performance reviewed before being put on the AX list..

You had the evidence in your hands and REFUSED to do your job..

Shame on CNN. You can do better than this, and you better. The nation depends on the Fourth Estate and you people are screwing this up royally.

Citizen Dateline 3/17 3:12pm CST Watching the "NEWS" in dis-belief.

I'm reeling from Schumer being cut off on MSNBC trying to announce subpeonas being filed Thursday in this important case for a story about a lost boy scout.

Our Nation's integrity and our Bill of Rights are at stake and the media SHUTS UP a Congressman doing the job that needs to be done for a feel happy story! WHAT is this world coming to?

Turn to CNN and some chick named Abby looks at a memo that shows PROOF that at least ONE attorney's record wasn't even LOOKED at by people in on making the firing decision and MISSES the NEWS!

I had the exact same portion of the memo, plus a few lines, published on the DEMOCRATIC Underground. I read along excitedly thinking CNN would actually nail the scoop and THEY DIDN'T! She circles the "skittish" part

See the memo:
