emboldens *Co and gives them the green light to do it again. They will just be reinforced that they are above the law. What's next? Iran? Syria? How will *Co continue to put us in harm's way? What will they thumb their nose up to next? More new signing statements from *. It's coming folks - if Congress doesn't do their job and do it now.

2. What Exactly Are The Dems Doing In Light Of This Conviction That....
makes you feel that way? All I've heard is a bunch of statments from them - no real action. If they wait too long - Libby will be pardoned and the opportunity is lost.

3. Call Your Congressmen & women
Edited on Wed Mar-07-07 02:32 PM by peacetheonlyway
I called 3 folks today:
Tom Lantos / California Foreign affairs committee.says they won't start investigations into misuse of intelligence but that the Oversight Committee might.

Called Nancy Pelosi's office (could not say they were beginning investigations)
Called Saxby Chambliss (R) Georgia and they said yes investigations were happening.

bottom line we all need to call all our senators and tell them point blank that we need full subpoena based investigations into the misuse of intelligence in the runup to the war.

10. Yes
in Georgia , because of Diebold, we saw 132 years of democratic Senators and Governors
go away in 2 years.

so people are stuck working thru the republican mouthpieces.

What Georgia recently did that was sinister is pass a resolution on Iran
that basically supports economic sanctions and demonizes the 'terrorist' organizations
basically preparing for a runup to another war.

instead of our congressmen focusing on investigating illegal and faulty evidence
in the Iraq prewar intelligence that was faulty.

they are busily manufacturing NEW FAULTY evidence for the war in Iran.

it's scary and we need to call them and make them accountable for what the citizens want.

5. Rep. Henry Waxman Carrying the INVESTIGATION FOOTBALL
I just spoke to his staffer.

Rep. Henry Waxman chairman of the House Oversight Committee is
possibly to begin hearings on the misuase of intelligence
in the runup to the war. He was first to begin investigating the
forged Niger documents and I am told it will be investigated
by the full committee.

EVERYONE Please call Rep. Henry Waxman and ask him to seriously
begin subpoena based investigations that go straight thru to the
white house.

his # (202) 225-3976 (phone)

also, John F.Tierney of Massachussetts, he's LEader of the National Security and Foreign Affairs Subcommittee
couldn't hurt to call him too!
(202) 225-8020

we need our congress folk to know the citizens are "mad as hell and were not gonna take it anymore!"

8. Auntie Bush, you are sweet to keep the faith... but
I have some bad news.

I've been on the phone nonstop this morning.
Senator Tom Lantos Representing Calif. 12th District
is actually doing the opposite. He's using MORE FAULLTY
intelligence to start a 2nd war with Iran instead
of investigating and prosecuting the intelligence misuse
of Iraq.

Here's the scoop from democrats.com
Iran in Congress' Sights
Submitted by davidswanson on March 6, 2007 - 6:57pm.

* US-Iran Attack Plan

By David Swanson

The absurd notion that Iran constitutes a threat to the United States was asserted in the opening breath out of Chairman Tom Lantos's mouth and never questioned by a single speaker through the hearing. Not a single speaker questioned the need to get tough on Iran in one way or another. Not a single speaker questioned the idea that a nation years away from possessing nuclear weapons and open to negotiating about them is a threat to the world's hugest nuclear power. Not a single speaker questioned assertions made during the hearing to the effect that Iran is supplying Iraqis with explosives. Not a single speaker questioned US preparations for war on Iran. And not one voice raised any concern over what sanctions would do to the Iranian people.
....

Lantos began by announcing a new bill he is introducing to impose tougher sanctions on Iran. His bill, he said, would sanction oil companies that sell to Iran, and would label Iran's Revolutionary Guard a "terrorist force." Lantos also said he would work with Congressman Barney Frank (Dem., Mass.) to divest funds from Iran. Ranking Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said she supported the proposal. - David Swanson

****

The really sad situation is that we are fully preparing for a war with Iran and the Israeli lobby
is manipulating Congress to move in that direction, even the democrats are in on this.

IN GEORGIA, the Congress passed a resolution on Iran that is oddly exactly similar to this thing that Lantos
is doing. We have begun demonizing a country that CAN"T POSSIBLY have nuclear weapons for another
10 years according to IAEA and who's leader Ahmadinejad lost considerable influence to more moderate
leaders.

the Iranians would be as victimized as the Iraqi citizens if we move in this direction of sanctions
which provided during the Iraq sanctions it only hurts children and women and the poor and does
nothing to stop the power base ...
