I have some bad news.
I've been on the phone nonstop this morning. Senator Tom Lantos Representing Calif. 12th District is actually doing the opposite. He's using MORE FAULLTY intelligence to start a 2nd war with Iran instead of investigating and prosecuting the intelligence misuse of Iraq.
Here's the scoop from democrats.com Iran in Congress' Sights Submitted by davidswanson on March 6, 2007 - 6:57pm.
* US-Iran Attack Plan
By David Swanson
The absurd notion that Iran constitutes a threat to the United States was asserted in the opening breath out of Chairman Tom Lantos's mouth and never questioned by a single speaker through the hearing. Not a single speaker questioned the need to get tough on Iran in one way or another. Not a single speaker questioned the idea that a nation years away from possessing nuclear weapons and open to negotiating about them is a threat to the world's hugest nuclear power. Not a single speaker questioned assertions made during the hearing to the effect that Iran is supplying Iraqis with explosives. Not a single speaker questioned US preparations for war on Iran. And not one voice raised any concern over what sanctions would do to the Iranian people. ....
Lantos began by announcing a new bill he is introducing to impose tougher sanctions on Iran. His bill, he said, would sanction oil companies that sell to Iran, and would label Iran's Revolutionary Guard a "terrorist force." Lantos also said he would work with Congressman Barney Frank (Dem., Mass.) to divest funds from Iran. Ranking Republican Ileana Ros-Lehtinen said she supported the proposal. - David Swanson

The really sad situation is that we are fully preparing for a war with Iran and the Israeli lobby is manipulating Congress to move in that direction, even the democrats are in on this.
IN GEORGIA, the Congress passed a resolution on Iran that is oddly exactly similar to this thing that Lantos is doing. We have begun demonizing a country that CAN"T POSSIBLY have nuclear weapons for another 10 years according to IAEA and who's leader Ahmadinejad lost considerable influence to more moderate leaders.
the Iranians would be as victimized as the Iraqi citizens if we move in this direction of sanctions which provided during the Iraq sanctions it only hurts children and women and the poor and does nothing to stop the power base ...
