High crimes and misdemeanors have been exposed in a court of law.
If congress does NOT impeach Cheney for outing Plame, then they are shirking their constitutional duty.

so say I. Say it loud and strong throughout this land:

Impeachment is a moral imperative.

thank you for listening

1. My feelings as well.
It's the only moral and ethical thing to do.

America can not stand by while it's government is hijacked.

4. Yes - It absolutely is their obligation. They take an oath to protect
and defend the Constitution, and I am sick TO DEATH of them violating that oath, over and over again.

8. If there isn't even an attempt to impeach, I'll consider the 110th Congress a failure
You listening, Pelosi? See what happens when you declare certain things "off the table?"

IMPEACH and Indict them for their High Crimes. There have been way too many lives lost over their immoral, unethical behavior.

11. That would be a BIG "hear, hear" from me!
BTW - pardon my being a completely insufferable whore, but I'd like to plug my latest column elsewhere here in GD-P. Reason is, if you go to the link, the end of the column includes a full list of all the updated TOLL FREE Capitol Hill switchboard numbers that I've been able to compile. Those are the numbers that get you transfered, for FREE, to anybody's office in the House and/or Senate - all you have to do is ask.

http://www.democraticunderground.com/discuss/duboard.php?az=view_all&address=132x3149945

One of those numbers, incidentally, is an AFL-CIO-specific number but it asks you your zip code. When you enter that, it hooks you up with your Congressperson. I suppose if you enter the zip code for some other representative in another state or region, you could then be put through to THAT individual as well. You'd have to look that one up, though, or maybe use the zip code of some out-of-town relative or friend. Just a thought...

Oh, and while I'm at it - thank you!

13. I don't see impeachment happening at all
I think the Democrats of the House know they won't get Bush and/or Chenny convicted by the Senate with a 2/3rd majority. Which is unfortunate.

15. what about "moral imperative" do you not understand?
it is a MORAL IMPERATIVE.

A moral imperative has to do with charging them, regardless of conviction, because to NOT do so is immoral, unconstitutional and a gross dereliction of duty.

We do not have the luxury of ignoring crimes becase we're afraid of breaking a political nail. Its beyond that now. We have a "unitary executive" that feels he is above the law, all laws.

he must be stopped immediately at all costs

16. I have no doubt with the moral imperitives of this impeachment.
And your right. But if you are a congressman right now, calling for impeachment. I think you want guarantees too for a conviction. Otherwise it might not be worth it in the long run. But the evidence is there, just not the 2/3 of the senate for conviction. I much rather know he will be convicted. Impeachment only means that Bush and Chenny should be tried. I myself would rather see a conviction. No offense to anyone here. Thats just me.
