Is Osama *Co's Ace In The Hole?.......
think about it - the only thing that will get the 'Merikun people off the Libby conviction, Walter Reed debacle, the surge, the war, the intimidation and firings of AG's around the country and countless other F-up's of *CO is if they catch Osama.

I suspect if they do know where Osama is - that he is now a marked man. They saved him for a rainy day - and right now it is storming in the WH.

Could catching Osama - be *Co's ticket out of trouble?

I know that some of you will say that Osama should have been caught 4 years ago - but - even so - if caught now - *Co take a lot of pressure off - right when they need it. Catching Osama would give them some breathing room.

1. it's too late
they didn't want him in February 2001 and they don't want him now.

I fear another attack of some sort more than I worry about them catching him.

:(

2. Sorry, Not Believing In The Conspiracy Theory...
...just like I didn't believe that they'd trot him out just before the '04 election... or the '06 election...
OBL's in Pakistan where they can't reach them. To believe that there's some "conspiracy" not to catch him, you'd have to believe there are a whole lot of active duty military in on the plot, which I don't buy.

3. OK - No Conspiracy - And Osama's Hiding Out In Pakistan....
so do you think *Co will put a full court press on to catch him now? Cheney just visited with Musharif and leaned on him. Do you think that he did that because *Co had a premonition of the outcome of the Libby trial?

5. Don't Know About What The Pakistanis Will Do
(other than to continue to not admit they're letting us cross the border) but I don't think anyone other than us DUers will give a crap about the Libby verdict in about a week. Wish it wasn't so, but past history shows that's the likely outcome.

6. Welcome to DU, but how soon you forget. They DID 'trot him out'
before the 04 election, via videotape. That didn't hurt the warmongers, but helped the rethugs.
And you don't have a clue where OBL is, nor do I.

Democratic Legislation Would Force Bush To Hunt For Osama

George W. Bush, Dick Cheney and the entire Republican administration don't seem to care about capturing Osama bin Laden but Democrats, led by Senator Byron Dorgan (D-ND), continue to demand answers on the whereabouts of the man who claimed responsibility for the 2001 attacks on our country.

Dorgan has offered as an amendment to the 9/11 Commission recommendations, a simple bill that demands accountability from the Bush administration on bin Laden and mandates "a report to Congress on the hunt for Osama Bin Laden, Ayman al-Zawahiri, and the leadership of al Qaeda."

The North Dakota Senator pointed out that we just passed the 2,000-day mark since September 11, 2001 with Osama still at large, while listening to repeated assertions from the White House that they do not care about capturing the terrorist leader.

"The perpetrators who boasted that they committed the terrorist acts against our country that murdered so many thousands of Americans remain, apparently, in a secure hideout in Pakistan and still taunt us. They send the television and the radio stations their videos and their voice tracks telling us their views of world events," said Dorgan. "I don't understand when the President says he is not concerned about him. The top intelligence chief said this is the greatest threat to our country. We better be concerned about him -- the President and the Congress and the American people. We ought to be concerned enough to decide this is a priority; it is a priority for us to bring to justice those who are the greatest threat to our country, the greatest terrorist threat."
