They are sick and tired of this war and the Hannity's the Coulters and the republican party defending them and the arrogants of this administration.

1. they still control the electronic voting
so any hypothetical bloodbath will be lessened artificially by a phoney vote count.

3. Indeed
A look at the numbers indicates that the Republicans lost this time in spite of cheating.
If they can't cheat in '08, it will be a rout.
The most important move for Democrats in the 2008 election is to remove as much of the Republican cheating apparatus as possible.
They've lost many of the state level offices that facilitated their cheating
I don't advocate violence against Americans, but electronic voting machines are another matter. I don't owe the slightest consideration to enemy computers.
If the machines are smashed the Republicans can't use them to cheat.
I've said it before and will say it again.
There's nothing that fixes an electronic voting machine's cheating problem better than a big gulp into the data port.

2. I hope you're right, but I'm very skeptical.
I spend a lot of time on DU, Raw Story, Common Dreams, cspan, cnn, msnbc, and streaming progressive radio, so I tend to take it for granted that other people know a lot more than they do!

I'm constantly amazed when I talk to other Dems and they'll say something about the"problem of the day". I'll say well, you know Shrub ........! And they say NO I NEVER HEARD THAT!

An example of that is when I got a call regarding how awful it is for our soldiers in WR, and the caller said she hoped they find out why. I asked if she hadn't heard that Shrub privatized the support positions at WR? The response....NO! I NEVER HEARD THAT! Now I always detail what happened and where it can be confirmed etc, but I've had so many people say these same things, and I'm talking about DEMOCRATS! If they don't know, how bad is the ignorancein the Pub side????

4. We need some more Dem pols who will take this one and spread the words.
Congressional investigations constitute a good start. Now we need to get the MSM to report what comes out in the investigations; and we need Dem pols who will talk about such things endlessly, until no one who will listen can be unaware of what the investigations uncover.

5. Things have hit home with true conservatives
1. Ballooning federal deficit

2. Government intrusion into our lives

3. Disgraceful way veterans and active troops are being treated

If you meet a conservative, be polite and sympathetic as they talk of these things. Agree with them--and with the fact that some horrid neo-con monster has taken over their party. They might very well do what MY Republican friends have been doing--vote Democratic.

6. IF they haven't forgotten by then.....cause it appears that the memory hole
is bigger than it appears.

I'll stay optimistic, but since the American people couldn't figure out that 9/11 happened no Bush's watch and instead he got the glory from it, just as Giuliani is profiting from it as we speak...I'm not gonna hold my breath and think that somehow folks will remember much more than last night's dinner if that. Plus it depends on how the media wind blows. They can paper over anything they so wish. So I'll just be happy that they understand than before.

7. Don't fool yourself. They'll do everything they can to steal it.
We need to redouble our efforts.

8. No. Guiliani is still polling very well. He beat Hillary in PA and NJ
in recent polls. 2008 will not be a cakewalk, especially if we nominate Hillary and/or the GOP nominates Giuliani (I am not sure how possible that is though).

9. Rudy will be hard as hell to beat in a general election
can't believe people are this confident right now. Rudy would win PA in my opinion.

10. I think DUers think that just because WE know Rudy is a turd
that America will recognize he is a turd in time. I am not so confident. I think a Multiple-choice Mitt nomination would be pretty good since he
1. wouldn't win Massachusettes
2. has plenty of baggage that people won't like
3. doesn't excite the base

Newt would be good too, if he gets in.
Giuliani and McCain have pretty high favorable ratings, and I don't count on MSM to show America who they really are. I don't want either of them to get the nom.

"don't count on MSM to show America who they really are."

They sure fooled enough people for way too long on Bush. Hell, if they could get a cocaine snorting alcoholic DUI gettin' ne'r do well son of a 1 term President in there, even if they had to go through the Supreme Court...they could get a Rudi in, who at least speaks in fully formed sentences and has an heroic myth blowing his back without ever breaking a sweat.

That's why I believe that it will be the media who decides.

If Chimp could get by John Kerry while we were already fighting a losing war based on lies, then doing Rudi might be easier for them than we all think!
