Early retirements. Forced retirements. Reassignments. Questionable promotions.

Guys like Hayden keeping their uniforms but serving in what are normally (albeing not legally) civilian (-only) roles. That nutjob motherfucker who called Islam evil while preaching **in uniform** at some whack-job church; whatver his name was.

Weightman (with a scant six months on the job) fired in the cover-up phase and replaced by an actually criminal (Kiley) (now mercifully also fired).

In addition to an obvious overall lack of readiness, is our military also plagued by a lack of honorable flag officers? I wonder even more about the officer corps below the flag level. The anonymous middle rank officers and platoon leaders.

Does anyone have a feel about the state of our officer corps?

3. the rot starts at the top
if there was leadership in the White House this wouldn't be happening. Unfortunately they can keep getting rid of the Generals but we will still have * and Darth Cheney. Getting rid of Crummy was a start, but until Jan 2009 I doubt anything will change.
