They ain't gonna give up all of their trump cards now.
I see it this way: National security strength is still what many in the U.S. want in a President, hence Guliani's high polling number- right now it is the only thing he offers, and that's not as certain as that.
Now, if McCain or Giuliani can't stay in the top tier, it leaves inexperience Romney to have to go up against a Dem. Nominee...but Romney negates the National Security Repug trump card, and so I believe for this reason Romney is a no go.....unless a Dem non security candidate is nominated, i.e., Obama or Edwards....and to some extent Hillary (cause really, senate committees ain't exactly "national security" experience).
So in the end, if the Dem nominate someone with National security credentials, Romney loses without question, and McCain and Giuliani could easily lose because both are flawed, i.e., because their National Security credentials ain't all that (POW and There during 9/11 does not national security make).
if the Dem nominate someone without National security credentials,, then Giuliani and McCain become competitive no matter how shabby their credential are, and Romney becomes competitive as well (think Romney vs. Edwards--neither have it).
In other words, watch the Corporate media push a non National Security credentialed candidate on the Dem side (meaning NO to Richardson and Hell No to Clark for sure, maybe to Hillary, and a great big yes to Obama and Edwards), and watch them push a National Security candidate on the Pub side.
Maybe there is another terrorist attack in our future that is being planned for soon enough.....in where if the Repug has the right candidate nominated and the Dems have someone without the required experience, then the republicans win again.
