Clinton raises $1 million on the internet in week

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- Sen. Hillary Clinton wants you to know it is not just the deep pocketed Democratic donors who will be fueling her presidential bid. The New York Democrat told supporters Wednesday that she raised over $1 million from donors in a weeklong Internet fundraising drive.

"Nearly 15,000 grassroots supporters from all 50 states responded to the one-week challenge," according to an issued statement from the campaign.

In the note she added, "It was an incredible success, and it means so much to me knowing that I have so many friends all over the country who are committed to our campaign."

There's going to record amounts of money spent in this campaign season.I don't blame Hillary or any of them for doing it because, sadly,it's the only way to win right now.And therein lies the trouble for our democracy.

Look - since you're believing all these poll numbers - How 'bout that great loss of Pennsylvania?

Last poll I saw had Guiliani kicking her butt in that "blue" state.

I wonder if the left would blame Diebold if Clinton won?

Edited on Thu Mar-01-07 12:48 PM by Kerry2008
What an ignorant statement. The left might not want Hillary as the first choice, but we'd still want her over any Republican any day of the week.

I want a candidate who can win. If thats Hillary, she'll get the nomination and we'll win.

If not, we'll see who...

17. What do you mean?
Who called you arrogant? If your talking about me, I said ignorant. And I didn't call you ignorant, I said your statement was ignorant.

And do you deny that left wing Democrats wouldn't celebrate having a Democrat like Hillary (if she's the nominee) in the Whitehouse? It's clear she isn't the left's first choice, but neither was Kerry for some in 2004 and Gore for some in 2000 when Bradley challenged him. But in the end, the left mourned their loss just as those in the center did. If Hillary was the nominee in 2008, and lost, we'd be pissed and sad. If she won, we'd celebrate. No debate about that!! Unless you want to count the SMALL majority of Anti-Hillary people who wouldn't rally behind her if the rest of our candidates were on fire, and she was all we had left.

Well, I certainly wouldn't make a blanket statement about all of them, but a large number of them would not.

Unless you want to count the SMALL majority of Anti-Hillary people who wouldn't rally behind her if the rest of our candidates were on fire, and she was all we had left.

If it really is a small minority, they yell louder than the rest of you.

23. I'm sorry, but you're wrong.
Sure, the left wing would be more excited about a win from someone like Obama or Gore. But they wouldn't boo Hillary winning if she was the nominee. Most left wingers I know were insanely behind Kerry and Gore when they won the nomination in 2000 and 2004--even when some had questions about both!! I think you're letting DU's image of the left wing cloud the real left wing. The one that likes to stand up for principles, but that also likes to win. If Hillary wins the nomination, she'll be President. And we'll rally behind her, leftists and centrists alike!!

Hell, someone even said they'd rather vote for Chuck Hagel.

DU han't clouded my perception of "progressives." The bulk of the progressive netroots have.

"Clinton had some help. Her husband, former President Bill Clinton, launched the "One Week, One Million" Internet fundraising blitz with an e-mail to his network of supporters. And by Wednesday, his wife's campaign had the money."

"Not only is Carville working for one candidate while commenting on others in his role as a CNN pundit, but he's quickly demonstrating why he is the most over-rated political operative of the last forty years. Remember, he took the most gifted politician of a generation - Bill Clinton - and, through his patented brand of self-promotion and DLC cynicism, lost Congress and never won a popular majority for President."

32. I think we have too many here that listen
to right wing radio too damn much. Each time we hear a talk radio Nazi say "She can't win," it means they're afraid of her. Talk radio whores are saying great things about Obama, which should make you wonder. Why would a facsist bastard say nice things about Obama?

I have nothing bad to say about Obama. If Obama wins - whoever wins the Democratic nomination, I'm behind him/her all the way. (That's a sentence you won't hear from most here on DU.) But I will stay with HRC all the way to January 20th, 2009 at the swearing in....

But seriously, between Obama with two years experience and the only team to win back-to-back presidential campaigns since FDR,(the team that beat war hero Bush and war hero Dole), ...who do you think the super-racist GOP wants to run against?
