Nugen to Obama

The Obama campaign confirms that the director of Howard Dean's personal office, Matt Nugen, is coming on as their political director.

Nugen, I'm told, turned down a top job at the Democratic National Convention in Denver to go to Obamaland.

He rounds out a staff that -- after some initial criticism that it was very white -- has shaped up as perhaps the most diverse in the field so far. Other recent Obama hires include Chicago operative Ertharin Cousin, a senior adviser, and labor operative Temo Figueroa, who's now Obama's national field director.
