Rep. Tom Allen (D-ME) Announces Support for John Kerry

Today, Maine Congressman Tom Allen endorsed John Kerry, stating that Kerry has "the courage to do what's right for America." Forty-seven members of the House of Representatives have endorsed John Kerry for President.

"John Kerry has the experience, the vision and the temperament we need at this critical time in American history," said Representative Allen. "John Kerry truly has the courage to do what's right for America. Senator Kerry is a true American hero. He volunteered for Vietnam, and as those who served with him attest, his bravery under fire was resolute. Upon his return, though, John Kerry demonstrated yet more courage in the vanguard of the campaign to bring that war to an end. And in the U.S. Senate, John Kerry had the resolve to ferret out the illegal operations of John Poindexter, Ollie North and the rest of the Iran-Contra conspirators."
