5. Arkansas
The woman who answered the phone was very excited. When I tried to tell her to ask the General to at least run thru Super Tuesday so I would get a chance to vote for him she interrupted me and said she'd tell me what she knew.

She thought there might have been a mistake made and that he might not be withdrawing. They have been inundated with calls! She said, "All I can tell you is to watch at 2!!"

Well, that's heartening. I'm a Kucinich guy through and through, but I appreciate the way Clark isn't at all bashful about taking bites out of Chimpy's ass. I like that in a candidate. A LOT. Hope he stays in.

I was originally a Clark supporter, but I couldn't stomach the Jackson Stephens connections and his support of "free trade" agreements. But I have to admit I love to watch him beat Bush and the corporate media whores to a bloody pulp. The man has a gift.

48. This Dean person salutes Clark, too.
Actually, this Dean person finds reason to salute every one of 'em. I am trying to get myself used to Kerry, though, because it just seems kind of inevitable.

I WILL INDEED support one of two people in the fall: WHOMEVER, or WHOEVER, wins our party's nomination.

About an hour ago, I had a conversation with the guy who runs the local deli, and he's of like mind. He's still a Dean fan, himself, but recognizes realities. He's anxious to vote ABB.

12. It's so hard to know what to trust these days
You get announcements about annoucements to be made later, information known through leaks long before it's made official, elections called days before the counting is complete... If this is a mistake, it's a big one, but not too surprising given our insistence on constant information flow.

I'm not a Clark supporter, but I thought his withdrawal from the race was a bit premature. Now look out for the Kerry supporters accusing him of waffling... it's their favorite word.

19. And you're right
One staff member said one thing last night and another is saying something else today. Wes has not committed one way or another, as far as we know, until he tells us in his own words.

We really need to hold our excitement in check until we hear from Wes himself. Many of us are on the verge of heart failure already.

Go to the clark website and go to contct us anf get the phone number for Little Rock and call urging him to stay in.

24. It could very well be that he is in the process of deciding what to do
I just got off the phone again from AR HQ and spoke to a volunteer that doesn't know anymore than us. All he knows is they've pushed back the announcement. I told him I was upset that Clark would withdraw before most states got a chance to vote and he said that he was, too because they hadn't had a chance to vote in Arkansas either!

Told him that whatever the General decides is fine by me. I will support him 100%

The whole time I was on the phone the phones were ringing off the hooks all around.

Clark, whether you stay in or decide to leave the race, I hope your instincts and leadership skills will allow you to keep fighting. What has happened, in terms of media manipulation in this primary race must be addressed! Please come out swinging, General! Regardless of who becomes the eventual nominee, we need you!

28. he's moved his press conference to 3:30 EST
hope he drops out of the dem race, fires the insiders running him into the ground and gets Dean as a running mate and runs independent.

F*ck the DNC, Clintons, DLC, and all the staid boring so called "leaders" of the democratic party.

my wife has been very patient with me and my volunteering for Clark in Ohio, and I want to at least vote for him. He and Dean are the only two who even have enough delegates here (since the caucus in December) to make it worthwhile.

she thinks john kerry is boring and puts her to sleep. i do too. he's the perfect metaphor for this party.

41. teevee99, what?
The Clintons, DNC, DLC and the "insiders" were the ones BEHIND Clark's run for President.

They were his supporters.

Why attack the people who supported him.

More sour grapes?

Look the guy lost. Plain and simple. He lost the military vote last night - badly - to Kerry. He trails Bush badly, compared with Kerry. His whole rationale for running was torn apart.

That is why he lost.

Hey, I liked the guy too. But put things into perspective.

Imagine if everyone said that they would vote third party if their candidate lost. The Democrats would get like 30% of its base.

Don't be a sore loser.

59. i'm tired of business as usual in politics
and I can say what i feel.

Kerry and Edwards have compromised their credibility in my book. they sat out the vote on the omnibus bill in order to campaign, which will take away my overtime. they voted for war in iraq. they voted for the patriot act. they voted for no child left behind. they're both beholden to special interests. I'm tired of business as usual and I will vote for whomever I choose.

Wes Clark is a true leader who has inspired his supporters by the example of his LIFE, not the words he speaks out of the side of his mouth. I have learned nothing from kerry or edwards or the rest of the losers we've got in congress. none of them are worth a dman.

64. I'm not a sore loser
and I don't have sour grapes. I think that is an astoundingly insensitive thing to say to anyone who is going through the grieving process for a candidate that they were passionately committed to. I would not say anything of the sort to any of the other people whose candidates will eventually drop out.

What I am afraid of is that we have thrown out the best hope of getting W out of office and if he gets elected in Nov I will have alot more that sour grapes or being a sore loser, even though that's exactly what the right wingers will say about all of us, just like they did after the theft of 2000.

I too am troubled by all the talk of third party runs and not voting for the nominee, but insensitive remarks and talk of sour grapes do nothing to help.

They were very interested in what state I was from. Wisconsin btw, they wrote it down, and the only thing it says on the clark website is to watch the announcement. Well it obviously was going to take something big to get wes in the news, perhaps this was it.
DONT CHANGE YOUR AVATARS, DONT GIVE UP UNTIL WES TELLS US TO, WITH HIS OWN MOUTH!
I also read in several stories that Wes' family wanted him to stay in. It is not over until WES says its over.

IMMEDIATELY.

If it turns out that he's staying in the race after all it will generate enormous publicity for him, but it will all be negative publicity--my god, how the SCLM will hoot and yowl! As a former press & PR person in the music biz, I've never subscribed to the belief that any publicity is better than none.

The suspense is killing me!
