What Am I Missing
Sen. Voinovich is whining that the majority won't allow a vote on the Levin/Warner resolution. Isn't that the resolution that the senate voted not to vote on last week?

1. Yes it is.
Since cloture failed last week, they have to try for cloture again first, then if it succeeds, they vote on the resolution.

Rather than do that, I think the Dems are upping the ante.

3. This Should Have Been Done Last Week
The Republicans who are running in '08 really need to work with the Dems right now.

5. Yep. They should have listened last week when it would have been easier. . .
MoveOn and True Majority got together to create the Molly Ivins Memorial Virtual March on Washington which produced over 1,057,000 phone calls to the Senate urging them to vote for this resolution. Now, instead of getting to say "I HAD to vote for it, because I got all of these phone calls . . . " they're being faced with having to admit they ignored the phone calls AND the lost opportunity to vote for a **Republican** resolution.

2. Voinovich knows he's got big troubles ... the Republicrites in Ohio
try to claim that he's more of a lefty, and his true colors have shown on the many times he has talked about "standing up to Bush" and then caved ...

When quiet, "moderate" Mike DeWine (moderate in that, until the 2006 election year, he voted for 97 percent of everything that came out of Bush's less odoriferous orifice, his ass) got stomped by Sherrod "I'm not African-American, Rush" Brown, Voinovich is aware that his position as senior Senator from Ohio is tenuous, at best.

BTW, during the Bosnia slaughter, Voinovich was touting on (surprise surprise!) Clear Channel radio station WTAM1100 that he was of ("Slaughterin'") Serbian heritage, and that the Serbs were getting a bad rap ...

4. It is Hard To Listen to These People
I really try to understand where everyone is coming from, but if you truly "listen" to these Republicans, you can't support them.
