Romney criticized by Jewish group for honoring Henry Ford

WASHINGTON --Republican Mitt Romney's choice of a museum honoring auto pioneer Henry
Ford as the site of his presidential announcement was strongly criticized Monday by
Jewish Democrats, who noted Ford's history of anti-Semitism.

The former Massachusetts governor, who is scheduled to formally launch his presidential
candidacy from the Henry Ford Museum in Dearborn on Tuesday, was taken to task by
The National Jewish Democratic Council.

The council "is deeply troubled by Gov. Romney's choice of locations to announce his
Presidential campaign," executive director Ira Forman said in a statement.

"Romney has been traveling the country talking about inclusiveness and understanding of
people from all walks of life," Forman said. "Yet he chooses to kick (off) his presidential
campaign on the former estate of a well-known and outspoken anti-Semite and xenophobe."

Henry Ford's reward from Hitler finally came in July 1938, when on his seventy-fifth birthday he was awarded the Grand Cross of the Supreme Order of the German Eagle. Ford was the first American and the fourth person in the world to receive this medal, which was the highest decoration that could be given to any non-German citizen. Benito Mussolini, another of Hitler's financiers, had been decorated with the same honor earlier that year.<128>

The presentation was made in Ford's Dearborn office by the German Counsul on Cleveland, Karl Kapp, and Consul Fritz Hailer of Detroit. Kapp placed the silk red sash over Ford's right shoulder. The sash was worn in a diagonal line from the right shoulder to the left hip where it was clasped with a gold and white cross. Kapp then pinned a large, shining star-shaped medal of Ford's white suit. The decoration was given "in recognition of pioneering in making motor cars available for the masses." Hitler's personal congratulatory message accompanied the award.<129>

9. All of the "related materials" from that song are anti-Semitic

One is a Nazi propaganda cartoon, on which many of the comments are of the "too bad the Holocaust stopped so early" and "14/88!" variety. Another is a video which I don't have time to watch which started out by saying "This video is not intended to create or encourage anti-Semitism; it is designed to demonstrate that all anti-Jewish sentiment in Germany was directly caused by Jewish behavior towards non-Jews". Most of the comments there were of a similar nature.

It's wierd how Youtube sorts videos into categories, I guess.

That's why I am rather surprised to see so much of it on the internet. Well, I was surprised when I first started going on the internet. Now I've gotten used to it. the working class? True, he paid his workers better than his competitors, but that was simply to give them the ability to further enrich himself by buying the products they made.

The picture of him standing on the balcony, arms folded and the approving scowl on his face, observing the police and hired thugs beating the hell out of his workers, is an image that will always be with me. All in all, he and his peers were/are a thoroughly contemptible bunch of pigs.
