Wes Clark talks and sounds like a presidential candidate
CNN: Clark talks and sounds like a presidential candidate

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- He hasn't formed a presidential exploratory committee or assembled much of a campaign organization, but Gen. Wesley Clark (Ret.) sounded like a full-fledged presidential candidate at the Democratic National Committee's winter meeting Friday.

The 2004 presidential candidate's address to the party faithful was packed with political punches on everything from the war in Iraq to increased compensation for CEOs to global warming.

"I think we need a president who understands how to take us out of Iraq; how to deal with multiple international challenges -- Iran, North Korea, terrorism, immigration, global warming, international trade; how to reenergize the American spirit and how to put us on the right path to a strong, secure and just America," Clark told the crowd.

Ending his speech with a call to have the "courage to begin" changing America, Clark left many wondering when and if he might begin his second presidential campaign.

7. Only if you're fool enough to take
Chris Lehane's word for it. Clarkies, Kerryites, and Dean supporters know he isn't to be trusted about anything.

16. Lehane is willing to act stupid
just to lower the expectations for Clark. After all, any slightly involved politico knows that Hillary would pick someone younger, and someone who would increase her chances in a state where she has none. Bill probably believes that he can bring in AR., and they need someone on the ticket who would help in a state with a higher EV. Besides, the DLC will demand someone from the DLC. Bayh was very good to the crdit card companies, I assume from their recent photo-ops. the choice Bayh.

Now why would Lehane lie? Maybe because Lehane has never conceived of a lie that he wouldn't tell. I guess he's done it again.

9. The amount of work he did for '06 Congressional campaigns was amazing.
He was seemingly everywhere. Even if he doesn't run for president, he's making a concerted effort to help Democrats gain and retain power and shape the agenda for years to come.

12. Ridiculous
You have no evidence whatsoever to base that on.

14. That's why I stated it the way I did.
It's just a hunch, based on his performance at the DNC winter meeting this weekend, the removal of his "When I run..." quote from the Jan. 15 speech transcript on his web site, the fact that he hasn't announced yet despite planning to announce by mid-Jan., WesPAC's performance in the 2006 election and Wes's fairly dismal polling numbers.

13. It simply defies logic that Clark or Dean didn't get the nod last time.
There would be no Iraq war by now if either of those two had won the nomination because either of them would've trounced the imbecile and smacked down any swiftboat attacks without hesitating a second. What a shame things didn't work out that way.

15. Clark would be a president to be proud of!
Good judgment, leadership and courage proven in a meritorious fashion time after time. Wes's appeal is to such a wide spectrum across all geographic boundaries that it deserves to be explored in a 2008 presidential candidacy. His teaching credentials are supberb both at West Point and now at UCLA coupled with an advanced degrees in Economics and his tenure as a CEO, he is able to speak to all Americans. As a strong premier Democratic source for leading Democrats on national security and foreign policy perscriptions is beyond compare with other candidates. I want him to run!!!! Go Wes Go! :patriot:
