Vilsack up on C-SPAN
I didn't know he was adopted. I guess I really knew nothing about the man- other than where he was from...

2. He's a great guy. But the woman who introduced him can't pronounce I-O-W-A
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 11:06 AM by SharonAnn
It's three distinct syllables. Eye-Oh-Wa.

That may be picky, but I'm from Iowa and I'm rather particular about the pronunciation of ALL words. It just isn't "articulate" to mispronounce the name of a state.

I know, * mispronounces "nuclear" all the time. That's not "articulate" either.

3. I Must Say He Seems Very Genuine... And I Too Did NOT Know He
was adopted! I realize he's not a top-tier candidate, but I really do like him, and I like his message too!

I just checked in because I wanted to post something about Howard Dean, but was glad to see this thread.

Vilsack has real HEART!

4. Missed it
Hope I can catch him later. I heard him on MSNBC yesterday and I was impressed. He wants the troops to leave and to cut the funding, very clear about that. No one even remembers he is running, he gets little attention but he seems so sincere. He deserves a good look.

6. Vilsack was good. Much better than I expected.
Nice speech. Minced no words about Iraq which I appreciated. He's worth a look.

7. I'm thinking we may need a Vilsack over Clinton and Obama -
Edited on Sat Feb-03-07 11:56 AM by higher class
was thinking that perhaps R-ovians would have a more difficult time destroying him (not that Clinton or Obama could be destryoed ....

was thinking that perhaps a Vilaack would help push converts from R-epublicanism whose numbers appear to be growing by leaps and bounds over to the Dem side of an honest vote

was thinking I want more than anything to get a non-white Christian in the WH and I want to see a female as soon as the right one appears

so what was Vilskack position on our imperialistic attack and attempted takeover of Iraq?

As of this morning I committed myself to learning more about him.

Maybe the time is right for someone who doesn't set off sparks, but appears to be plenty capable.

Would he be taken over by the DLC is we the people supported him? By that I mean mis-taken over.

Love the woman - Hillary, not her politics. Love the man - Obama - he's still young and could be a great VP or ANYTHING else he is asked to do.

I don't usually join these discussions until much later - but I had to come out against Hillary as much as admire her abilities and courage.
