1. Oh man..
This one is actually true.

After so many other threads with speculation, I felt this was one more..it still hasn't sunk in yet.

15. Ron Fournier Reported It
Fournier is the go to guy for getting word out. He is the chief political correspondent for the Associated Press. He would never report this if it were not true.

3. I appreciate Wes...
Whether he drops out or not I think Clark was (is) an asset to this nomination process. I always hated when people called him a republican and didn't give him a chance.

5. if true....
I'm saddened for Clark and all supporters. I really don't know why he did not "catch hold" but I suspect it is our cumulative desperation to make certain Bush is thrown out. Clark, for all his experience and credentials lacks the domestic experience. He's been a very quick study, but I think it has hurt his campaign. My guess is that many have seen that and been a bit concerned that he might be at a disadvantage when facing the nasty, and very fiercely fighting Repub machine.

And, yes, I think the media got their marching orders and intentionally sabotaged Clark's momentum by ignoring him. Disgraceful.

I hope there will be a role for Clark in the next Dem administration... Defense Secretary, perhaps? Chairman, Joint Chiefs? Secretary of State?

19. To Clark Supporters --
Even tho I did not favor Clark as nominee, I know it must be rough and a shock that he is dropping out, and my heart goes out to all of you who have been so loyal to him over these many months. For the most part (that is, with a few notable exceptions), you fought the good fight.

I also want to say that I believe that Clark was the unfortunate beneficiary of DNC machinations behind the scenes. I have absolutely no PROOF of that -- I can only share what my perceptions are. For all I know, they may have even included him (IOW -- did Kerry promise him the VP slot too? LOL -- little joke there, don't get excited.)

Anyway, I can only imagine how you are feeling at this point and I'm sorry for your disappointment.

20. Clark supporters, you have my heartfelt condolences
Clark has been my #2 guy since he officially jumped in the race, and I love the man and his message.

I'm chain-smoking and tearing up here. Wes is a wonderful human being, and I certainly don't think we've seen the last of him.

Hugs to all of his supporters.

24. Looks like his volunteers betrayed him
They were demanding pay; told the press that if Clark didn't win TN today then they were leaving.

29. huh?
I'm sorry you took my remarks as "snide." I was only commenting on what was reported during the news; that is the exact line I heard. I added the betrayal part in because thats what it sounded like to me--they leaked to the press that they would quit if they weren't paid/and or if Clark didn't win TN. They could have at least kept that to themselves until after the TN primaries.

30. Demanding pay?!?! Please!
I've heard that they refused pay to give him a little more money to continue to Wisconsin.

If you post scathing 'facts' like that, at least provide a link.

The 'truth' only hurts when you actually use it.

25. Congratulations, CNN et al
You've just earned the hate of a huge chunk of Democrats who will stop at nothing to bring you down. You won't be forgiven for this, because we're ten times more angry than we were when you "Gored" Gore. That was nothing, you'll see.
