Schilling Considering Senate Run Against Kerry
Edited on Sat Jan-27-07 12:22 PM by erpowers
Curt Schilling is considering a run for the senate seat currently held by John Kerry. Schilling was asked about the prospect of a run yesterday on a radio station. The radio station later put up a poll and as of now Schilling is leading with 96 percent. I think the poll is a little biased in that probably only the people who listened to the station knew about the poll. However, DUers can try to du the poll. I will try to link to the poll later. Here is a link to the article about Schilling.

Here is a link to the poll. If it does not come up with the screen click on the Schilling for Senate icon. I am not sure that they have not taken the poll down in that when I went back from the link the results were up. Even when I clicked on the icon the results were still there. Before I linked to the page it just had the poll.

It's sad what he's become.

2. Seems pretty laughable.
Schilling, who is planning to retire from baseball after this season, did give a glimpse of what he would do in a political office. His first task would be to “fire everybody and anybody who had anything to do with the Big Dig,” he said.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't the state of Massachusetts control that project? How could a U.S. Senator “fire everybody and anybody who had anything to do with the Big Dig”? (I'm sure Kerry would like to do the same, btw, at least for most of them)

Schilling said in 2008 he’ll vote either for Sen. John McCain (R-Ariz.), whom he called a personal friend, or Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.). “If they are both on the ticket it will be a tough choice,” he said.

Um. Wha..??? I guess that would be a tough choice. McCain and Obama have SO much in common. :sarcasm:

I'm guessing Schilling would have about as much success against Kerry as Swann did against Rendell. :)

3. Hahaha, Swann. What a joke.
Anyone who would have a tough time choosing between Obama and McCain needs to pay a little more attention to politics.

9. What an idiot
"“If they are both on the ticket it will be a tough choice,” You don't "chose" between people on the same ticket - obviously he means ballot.

Imagine the debates. Something tells me that MA is unlikely to dump their 4 term Senator.

6. The boston herald and rko are right wing crack pots.
Shilling is too stupid to be taken seriously by the Mass. Voter. He is as dumb as a stump. Where do they come up with these people? I don't even like him as a pitcher.

10. Schilling sucks
Schilling pussed out when it came time to testify in front of congress about steroids. He also has a sham charity about ALS - Lou Gehrig's disease, yet he won't support stem cell research.

He's a fraud.
