Never, ever let the people forget what the Republicans have done...
..in the last 6 years. Yes, they will call the Democrats "big-spending and high taxes" liberals but no name-calling can erase their spending and giveaways to the rich of the last 6 years. They have set a record of gross negligence and incompetence that will stand for a very long time, I would predict. Not to mention their "earmarks" and corruption that should embarrass each and every one of them into submitting their resignations and promising to never seek public office again.

The Democrats should never take a defensive position against these criminals. Not only their "rubber-stamping" of a tyrannical and unstable President but their turning the other way as our freedoms were taken away as if they were worthless. Their acceptance of torture and rendition as nothing to be concerned about. Their defending eavesdropping and spying on average Americans and a general wiping of their asses on the Constitution. The Democrats should never, ever let the people forget about these criminal acts.

When they bring out their usual attacks on the Democrats before the next election, I am hoping the Democrats let them have it with both barrels. They want the people to believe they are ready to take back over the reins of government after only two short years. They have learned their lesson. They have heard what the people said. Whoa! Not so soon! I think another 40 years in the minority would be just about the right punishment for them?

1. I wish someone would write a book,
documenting everytime the GOP has screwed working Americans since the election of Ronald Reagen. Just document all the legislation and lack of action that have made stuff tougher for Americans in black and white. Might end up being a rather thick book.

3. The Republicans of 1856-60 would hang their heads in shame
theirs was a populist party, with a platform that included the Homestead Act and the Land Grant College Act. They were for helping out the common man--but after the Civil War, they were corrupted by Big Business.

4. Yep, the Dems are learning a little bit about counterpunching
There has been some predictable whining already from the Republicans, wondering why they get all the shit offices at the Capitol, and so surprised are they that the Democrats are suddenly uninterested in what they have to say. And the Democrats have been right on top of a lot of it.

You can bet that the Republicans will be doing their level best to obscure their record and try to drop it all down the memory hole. Whenever they talk about governmental interference, just say "Schiavo." When they bitch about taxes, remind them that Bush came into office with record surpluses and turned them into record deficits in three years.

And there's plenty more where that came from.
