My take on Governor Richardson
he was on This Week he is IMPRESSIVE!!! and he doesn't talk like a boring Senator.and as he said the voters pick Governors to be President because they actually do things as a Executive of a state as to appose to a Senator who talks about doing things. very good point

1. I must say, I was impressed by his ability to bring about a
ceasefire (no matter how temporary) in Darfur last week.

4. I look forward to hearing intelligent people debating the issues again
Bush's "dumb-downed" platforms are mind numbing. Most people can't even stand to look at him, let alone figure out what he's trying to say.

5. He is an intelligent man and a master at international negotiation
but be aware that he is a DLC corporatist through and through. He would be a wonderful Secretary of State, but I'd hate seeing him in the top job.

People here have a love/hate relationship with him. He lowered taxes on all the wealthy folks who have vacation homes here and created a budget shortfall that caused him to beg the lege for permission to dip into the principal of the emergency fund to pay the teachers. He ended the regressive sales tax on food, but jacked up other taxes and fees high enough that working folks got a net tax increase.

He is visionary enough to have begun a north/south commuter rail system, although people here lack experience with mass transit and don't quite know what to think of the whole thing.

I'm just not sure a conservative free trader is equal to the job of rescuing the economy of this country, and it will desperately need rescuing after another two years of the GOP.
