Hillary or Clinton
As I've said several times, I will refer to Hillary by her first name, primarily because her campaign posters and website only use her first name.

I'm not sure why she's afraid of using "Clinton" but its likely she wants to separate herself from Bill, and be seen as her own person, or maybe she doesn't want Bill's nagatives to hurt her.

However, independents and southerners like the "Clinton" name and may not like "Hillary"

So even though I will still refer to her as Hillary, she should think more about using the "Clinton" in her campaign.

1. I usually just refer to her
as 'Hillary, the Goldwater Girl.'

Because as far as I can tell, she's gone back to her roots.

2. definitely "Hillary". She's lucky to have such a first name recognition
It's much less formal, friendlier, and it puts "little" people at a perceived even level with her, subconsciously at least, when they can refer to her by first name.

and it'll go a long ways toward winning her swing votes if she gets the nod.

3. How about "Milady"? Actually I always write "Mrs. Clinton" or else
"the junior Senator from New York."

4. I think it's just to differentiate herself from Bill
I don't think she's afraid of the Clinton name, but it's easier to distinguish her as "Hillary," because "Clinton" could be confusing. My mom pointed out that Jeb Bush has always used "Jeb!" on his signs, etc., to differentiate between himself and the rest of his family. I do think that she wants to appear as her own person so that people realize capable in her own right.

6. If that's the case then why doesn't everyone call Bush "George"?
Oh wait. I forgot there's another asshole in his family with that same first name. :smoke:

8. but
But most people don't like her, they like her husband, so I think she needs to use the Clinton name.

W Bush used his last name to win the presidency, our country isn't that smart, using the Clinton name will get her the win.
