Jon Boner wanted the BCS game day off
http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/16716406/

All the critics were saying the Dems should have taken the College Championship day off, but it was actually republican John Boner who requested the day off.

It pisses me off that the press lambasted the Dems for vactioning instead of keeping the 5 day work week.

1. IMO, if you think your job is less important than recreation don't go to work
Voting by proxy is now out, so it doesn't bother me at all for a Republican vote not to show up if there is a quorum left to do business.

2. Apparently
there were some other initiation procedures occurring on the same day - so the day off was not just for the Championship.

3. It was freshman orientation day
Essentially, everyone had the day off if they weren't involved with that.
