Either Obama / Hillary need to be somewhere on the ticket in '08...
Edited on Sat Jan-20-07 11:08 AM by jg82567
In '04 we did a lot of calculating annd evaluating of our primary candidates based on what the Republicans might do to them in a general election or who we though they REALLY wanted to run against. And I think a lot of our thinking was manipulated in some way or another by the RW. We wound up with the 'safe choice'. I think we have to be careful of the GOP inserting themselves into OUR primary process. They are more concerned with picking our nominee than picking their own which is why there is so much early attention on the Dems running and you rarely hear anything about the Reps running other than McCain.

Two words to remember to those who think Obama and Hillary don't have a chance: Condi Rice. The Repubs would LUV to beat us in getting the first black or first woman on the presidential/vp ticket. Then you would never hearr the end of it. "The dems talk a good game but we actually walk the walk" etc. Total BS, but this is a STUPID country and a lot of people don't know the history of the country and the parties and if they can get 20% of the black vote, WE ARE F**KED!!. And I think the racist red-neck base of their party will be placated with a lot of wink-wink nudge-nudge to let them know that the darkie won't really be running anything.

2. I agree
There seems to be an attitude sometimes that whoever Democrats nominate has to be someone who Republicans find acceptable. The Republicans are going to attack any Democrat who is nominated, so it's silly to allow them to manipulate the process.

9. Obama yes, Hillary no
Hillary doesn't bring any real substance to any ticket. There are others who do like Obama, Clark, Richardson.
