Bush in for some rude awakenings .. says Leahy
January 19, 2007 - 20:34
Bush in for some rude awakenings on security matters beyond Arar, says Leahy
BETH GORHAM

... "In an ironical way, President Bush has not been helped by having a rubber stamp Congress for six years," he told The Canadian Press on Friday ...

"There's been nobody to say No. Now they're suddenly awakening to the fact, just in the last two or three weeks, both in the House and the Senate, that we have people who are asking questions." ...

One of Leahy's major goals is finding an alternative to American demands for passports from Canadians crossing into the U.S. by land.

"That's crazy. We can find a better way to do this," said Leahy, who fought to delay the measure until June 2009 and met Friday on the issue with Canada's Public Safety Minister Stockwell Day ...

Is there anything on this planet as inconvenient as Republican paranoia laws?

9. Yes, and they are now saying shampoo plot a hoax
notice how there were no convictions on that one, same with the "Miami 7", I just hope
the truth comes out so that all those GOP ladies who had their $100 perfume thrown into
the dumpster know this. Do you realize that after 5 years there has not been a single
conviction of anyone at GITMO, a lot of innocent people released with no charges.

2. A beautiful article. The fact that the dems are making Bush
retreat when pushed shows that Bush is just a bully. Now that he has a congress that will fight back and enjoy it, Bush, like most bullies, pulls away.
Beautiful

3. And Don't Forget Americans Trying To Reenter Their Own
country. How the heck can my own country deny me entrance? Doesn't seem very "American" to me.
