I'm trying not to be too paranoid but
who else here has a sinking feeling that we're going to wake up one morning soon to discover that Bush unilaterally, and with no consultation of Congress, bombed the shit out of Iran the night before? Of course that will most likely send the entire Middle East into flaming chaos. It will then be a fait accompli situation and we have enough stupid Congresspeople and sheeple who will reflexively rally around the "war president". It would be very much in character for the hardball-playing Neocons and Repubs to do an endrun right around Pelosi, Reid and the Dems. I just have a bad feeling about this, and frankly, the last 6 nightmarish years of the Bush junta haven't given me any reason not to have plenty of bad feelings.

3. I Still Wouldn't Put It Past Him
But I am heartened by Congress finally standing up to him and telling him he better not. What they would do if he did it anyway?

4. That's an interesting question
I think he won't bomb the crap out of them at all, though he may have the nuclear stuff bombed. But I think that's it. There is no point for him to bomb the regular people in Iran as some of them are starting to protest against the sickass leaders there, as I am sure you have seen on the news.

6. Why worry about stuff you have no control over?
If Congress or others in power can't or won't stop him, your worry and your action certainly won't.

There's no way to know this either, but I suspect that if Bush pulls something like this the opposite of reflexively rallying around the president is more likely to happen and he'd find himself impeached pretty damn rapidly.

7. I would not be surprised at all. In fact, I expect that is what is going
to happen.

Pissypants does not respect the Constitution or Congress -- he will do whatever he wants, when he wants.

Constitutional crisis, here we come!
