Which came first......the chickenhawk or the cracked egg?
When George Bush lounged his way through the war talk on Sunday`s 60 Minutes program, I wondered why he was sitting on a comfortable chair as opposed to a cement slab in a prison. Many of Scott Pelley`s questions were met with a little tilt of Bush`s head followed by the familiar nonsensical grin. Iraq was, after all, just a "cracked" egg, not the broken one Pelley asked about. Bush`s response made me feel like I was at the scene of a fatal crash, overhearing an EMT volunteer say, "Your kids were all killed in the wreck, but you`ll be happy to know we found your other shoe." Cracked, not broken. Fine if you`re making an omelet, not so fine if you`re describing the end result of your invasion.

Bush`s grins seemed so out of place. A good chunk of a country was ablaze, dead bodies were piling up, legless soldiers were sitting in wheelchairs at Walter Reed and George W. Bush sat grinning, talking about the difference between cracked and broken. He seemed particularly pleased with himself that he thought this difference up all on his own. His shallowness was absolutely shameful.

The situation in Iraq calls for something different than the ordinary airing of partisan differences, the occasional call to a senator`s office or the care package sent to a loved one trapped in Bush`s quagmire. Someone has to get a chant going out on the streets, a chant that gets louder and louder, stronger and stronger by the minute. No more walking on eggs.

George W. Bush has spoken to us from his history of comfort and pleasure, a far cry from the horrors his bullying nature created for Iraq. We need not listen to him anymore. In fact, we must take charge of the conversation by openly and publicly opposing this war.

3. Stupidest extended metaphor...EVER!
An cracked egg is still broken; it just isn't as messy. I wanted to ask him if anyone has ever successfully repaired a cracked egg, replaced it under the bird, then watched it hatch. I think the answer would be no.

The leader of the (used to be) free world is too damn dense to even comprehend the fundamental message behind a freakin' nursery rhyme. :banghead:

I would've loved to see * squirm if Pelly had asked him to explain Humpty Dumpty:

"See, it's about a man that's an egg. Part man, part egg. He's an egg-man. He's on a wall, see and the wall represents Iraq's lack of gratitude. So the egg-man fell off the wall...cuz he was unstable. Like Iraq."

4. Seems to me a cracked egg & a broken one are just about the
same thing. Bush is an asshole.

5. dang it... can't vote the OP up this late... still I'll add some graphics...
I found these right after our top eggsecutive made the "cracked not broken" remarks during his interview on 60 Minutes.
