1. Gerald Ford is ahead because of his recent funeral and all the...
adulation poured out over five days.

2. Done! With all the media hype and rave reviews...what else could we expect?
I wonder what the media will say about Jimmy Carter when he dies. They will probably compare him to Ford and put him down. I'm sure we can depend on the Media to do just that!

6. I'm surprised it's so close, given the timing...
It's only 4% away from a victory of sense over sentimentality...

7. Exactly what did Ford do??? Carter brokered peace between Israel and
Egypt that lasts to this day. Carter ATTEMPTED to start ecological responsibility. Ford pardoned criminals and cleared the way so more criminals would get stronger and bolder.

8. Ford Crazy-Blame the Media for the Results
Ford called Clinton an average President. I know that Clinton was not the greatest president, but how could you call the guy who balanced the budget and left major surpluses average. In addition, he called Eisenhower the best President of his lifetime. I was not around then, but my grandparents have told me that things were pretty bad under Eisenhower. My grandmother always tells my how bad things were when Eisenhower was in office. Ford was wrong a just about everything except how bad a manager Reagan was. That was just about the only thing he got right.

As with many others I contend that Ford is doing so well in this poll due to the things the media said about him during his recent funeral. The media went on and on about how it was such a great thing that Ford pardoned Nixon. I really doubt that pardoning Nixon was the best thing for the country.
