It's increasingly obvious that everyone--EVERYONE--is turning
on Bush. The media, the Republicans, Poppy, everybody.(I think Barney turned a long time ago. Remember how he wouldn't come when Bush called him?)

But remember that the world revolves around Bush. Nothing matters but him. If he feels that people are humiliating him, he has one big, BIG trick left. He can start a first-strike nuclear war. He can blast the shit out of Tehran or North Korea or Luxembourg. Congress can't stop him. The weaponry is already there, and much of it is probably already targeted. All he has to do is have a tantrum and push a button.

Somebody has to get the football away from Shrub like Alexander Haig did in the last days of Nixon. In the meantime, I think I'm gonna go hide under my bed.

1. Luxembourg?
Damn, he couldn't find that on a map to save his scrawny neck!

In fact, I'm giggling trying to imagine him and the crew . . .

BTW, it's dark here under the bed. :scared:

17. I want to go to Andorra
Andorra

Notes: words by Malvina Reynolds, music by Pete Seeger; copyright 1962 Brio Music, renewed 1990. a.k.a. "I Want to Go to Andorra!" Pete Seeger's recording of this song was issued on a CD in 2003 by the Andorran government. Also on the CD is a 1996 speech by the Andorran Foreign Minister given on the occasion of his signing the nuclear non-proliferation treaty at the U. S. State Department in Washington, D.C.

Chorus:
I want to go to Andorra, Andorra, Andorra,
I want to go to Andorra, it's a place I adore,
They spent four dollars and ninety cents
On armaments and their defense,
Did you ever hear of such confidence?
Andorra, hip hurrah!

In the mountains of the Pyrenees
There's an independent state,
Its population five thousand souls,
And I think they're simply great.
One hundred and seventy square miles big
And it's awf'lly dear to me.
Spends less than five dollars on armaments,
And this I've got to see.

(Chorus)

It's governed by a council,
All gentle souls and wise,
They've only five dollars for armaments
And the rest for cakes and pies;
They didn't invest in a tommy gun
Or a plane to sweep the sky,
But they bought some blanks for their cap pistols
To shoot on their Fourth of July.

(Chorus)

They live by the arts of farm and field
And by making shoes and hats,
And they haven't got room in their tiny land
For a horde of diplomats;
They haven't got room in their tiny land
For armies to march about,
And if anyone comes with a war budget
They throw the rascals out.

(Chorus)

2. What do you want to bet that there's a protocol for
if the Commander In Chief goes batshit crazy?

There damn well BETTER be.

Chances are there is, but we just don't know about it. It's not as though they'd tell us.

10. What about the 25th Amendment?
They passed that after the JFK assassination.

Something about removal when he can't perform his duties.

18. During the Johnson Administration
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 11:16 PM by Jeff In Milwaukee
1967 to be exact.

Thom Hartmann had a discussion of this issue today. It would require Congress to basically determine that the President is insane -- probably an tougher nut to crack than impeachment.
