Proud to say, Dick Durbin from my home state...
For some reason, when Dick Durbin first became a US Senator from Illinois, I wasn't too impressed or excited. What a wrong impression that was. Over time I have been quite proud to say he is my Senator.

1. The networks here in Illinois,
ABC,NBC and CBS, did not run Durbin's response to *'s speech.

I e-mailed all three of them and told them how I thought they had fallen down on the job. I e-mailed the local affiliates, and called one of them. I told the national networks that they could have at least made arrangements for their Illinois affiliates to run the response.

No wonder I seldom watch TV news.

And did anyone watch the first ten minutes of Nightline? I have not watched in over a year. Tonight, I did. It was practically a worship service of *'s "character." :puke:

2. Dick Durbin Will Listen
Thank You for saying this, me as well, along with Barak. Proud as hell.

Now I know there is another thread where people are bitching about what Durbin said.

Disclaimer: I realize many here are hugely active.

But why sit here and bitch about Durbin. Get in touch with him. He does listen. He will respond.

I missed the idiot's speech. But instead I went to a DFA meet-up and saw the real President, Al Gore and his latest movie.

This is a time for sacrafice. You may lose friends, you may lose an invite to the party. But deal with it folks. We are being lied to and it ain't gonna end till we are all dead. If you want to changd things. Turn off the FRICKIN TV. They are the enemy to the state.

This speech was a call to action. Dems want to hear from us. Your neighbors want to hear from you. Don't spend all day just talking to the chorus. Get out there.

4. I just had to reply to your post about people trashing Durbin
They have no clue what a great senator he is. He's been voted as one of the top ten in the senate. He is known as one of the few who really cares and listens to the people. He does his job so well and has a very big heart. No one should trash a good man like him.

3. Durbin has done us, in Illinois, proud
The people I know who have worked with him and know him say he is a totally good person. A rare politican. Someone who really cares. He was mentored by the great Paul simon (as well, as his cohort, Obama). I think Durbin has done the memory of Simon proud and us in Illinois a great service.

7. I have been following Durbin, and have to say
that I am impressed. There are very few who seem to have anything of importance to say these days. Durbin seems to speak his mind very clearly.
