Condi, are those really the only two options you can think of?
Are you telling me that this supposed learned individual couldn't sit down for 5 minutes and think of anything else that Syria or Iran might possibly either want or might motivate them?

No of course not and clearly she has not even bothered to ask anyone in State experienced in general or informed specific to this region, these countries, this issue. Clearly.

The strangest part of this is what we all knew was coming all along. Condi and Bush will posture as though we are making demands of Syria and Iran as if we got to set the parameters. Unfortunately my nation finds itself in a whole other situation WE ARE ASKING FOR THEIR HELP. We, the US the once mightiest nation on earth the sole survivor the winner of the great postwar realignment that was the Cold War, has to go to these countries with a cup in it's hands and beg.

Sad Sad Sad. All the way around.

2. Psyops on both the Iranians and the US
They have been peddling that line for the last 5 years. In fact if you looked back Fox News was all but predicting a new revolution in 2004 and a certain reform victory in 2005. They forgot about the whole "fear of whacko Bush" thing-see fear has many uses.

Yes there is a reform movement in that country but there really always has been. They are just now seeing more light of day due to decision within Iran but the climate there has much more to do with keeping us out.

ONce again bluejeans and rock'n'roll will have more to do with change their than will weaponry used or unused.

3. Sounds like "regime change" to me. Been there, done that. Ignore him, he'll go away.

Ahmadinejad doesn't run Iran. The people who do are shrewd enough to know that lightning rods are a good way to keep popular discontent away from themselves. That's why little monkeys are put on thrones -- there are big problems that need to be kept under wraps, and simian hysterics are a good way to distract people long enough so the public doesn't interfere with the real deal-makers.

Things are being worked out behind the scenes, and the more that Israel and the neocons try to raise hornets -- and try to maneuver other players against each other -- the worse things are going to work out for everyone. I really wish there was more recognition of the big picture shown in this regard.

Don't waste your time with Ahmadinejad. He's a prop.
