Freepers are such nice people.

3. That's not what I saw
When I saw the news I went to check there and was rather surprised to see that the vast majority simply wished him a speedy recovery. Of course there were a few who wished that he would retire, or even not be well *enough* to continue, but in the main they almost seemed human.

Nice to see actually.

4. Look carefully at their wording.
RimJob keeps their ballcages pretty tight, but allows a lot of hateful wiggle room.

Also notice deleted posts. We all know what was there.

13. Mostly, aside from the occasional asshat, being as nice as we were with
the Repub Senator with cancer (what was his name again?)

I'm so ashamed though. I laughed at a bit of black humor (someone over there posted a "Weekend at Bernies" pic.)

8. Really?
I've been checking CNN for the latest news. They were hypothesizing the repug governor could appoint anyone he chose if Senator Johnson was incapacitated.

From CNN:

Should Johnson not be able to complete his term, which ends in 2008, South Dakota Gov. Mike Rounds, a Republican, could appoint his replacement, which could shift the balance of power in the Senate.

Think I'll keep Senator Johnson in my prayers for a fast recovery! I really hope this isn't anything serious and he can recover quickly cos we definitely need him!

Darned reading comprehension skills! I don't post here very often even though I joined in 08/05. Sheesh! I used <> for html instead of reading further to see I needed to use brackets instead. Teach me to not post very often!

6. I went over there and read one of their threads...
They started out blabbering on about how they wished Senator Johnson nothing but the best; that "unlike DU, we actually care about people" ... blah, blah, blah...

Yet despite their claims, after the thread gets going pretty good, it starts to deteriorate into a DEATH WISH.

----> They are disgusting, lice infested, LYING, un-American, filthy, nasty, COCKROACHES!!

The psycho who controls the mindless scumbags at FreeAK Republic has to be an EVIL BASTARD:

10. So who couldn't argue?
No one here will argue about those asswipes. Many of us have seen what they've said first hand.

There are far too many comments (many of them HATEFUL) to copy & paste them here. If DU'ers can stomach the trip over there, they'll see comments just like this one that came from FREE REPUBLIC'S MEMBERS:

..."Hopefully God will hear the prayers of those who want to protect the lives of the unborn and the sanctity of marriage tonight"

Yes, I'll admit --- they have a handful of people over there that seem to have a trace of decency in their hearts, but the majority of them are circling like vultures tonight.

Remember when Senator Craig Thomas (R-WY) was diagnosed just last month with acute myeloid leukemia? There was nothing but well wishes for him on here. It's another situation where the Governor (in Wyoming's case is a Democrat) would select a successor should the worst case scenerio happen.

Still.. no one at DU discussed the morbid possibility of gaining another seat through Thomas' unfortunate health problems.

Senator Thomas is much older than Senator Tim Johnson, and his future is a complete unknown with such a serious illness.

But to me.. just reading how DU'ers reacted over the news of the R-Senator's illness compared to the low-lifes on the other side is such a complete contrast. -----They are TWISTED.

DU'ers ROCK!

26. My friend's 65 year old husband died of acute myeloid leukemia just
3 weeks after being diagnosed! He was literally taken to the hospital from his dr.'s office once the blood test results came in. They blasted him with chemo, his organs then failed, then he had a brain bleed and a stroke, went into coma where he remained until the family could be brought together. Then they pulled the plug. It was an awful nightmare.

12. Oh, they will...don't worry about THAT!
"Prayers" like that (or any prayers, for that matter) come back threefold, or some say sevenfold. Whatever, their evil intentions will come back marked "return to sender," with interest.

15. That's not prayers, Raksah, that's spells.
Prayers may not be answered - and in the Freep's case, I hope not - but it's evil SPELLS that come back threefold, not prayers.

Just a slight correction. :hi:

seven-fold. Therefore, praying for someone's death could produce those results. It's old testament, but we know how those freepers live by the old testament. When Jesus showed up, it pretty much ruined everything for them and their Pharisee ways.

any thing you send out comes back three fold, good or bad. Most wiccans dont send out bad thought if they can help it. " Do as you will, but harm none "

27. There is a difference
With prayer, you ask a god, goddess or the supreme being of your choice to act on your behalf.

With a spell, you actually borrow the power of that supreme being (drawn from nature, the energy of the universe, etc) and direct it toward creating the effect that you want. In essence, the supreme being doesn't need to get off the celestial couch if it doesn't want to.

25. The Mods at FR have been deleting posts like crazy
Here's one they deleted yesterday.

"I actually don't think we should pray for his recovery.
I think we should pray for God either to convert him to the cause of righteousness, or...that God would remove him from any position of influence whereby he can harm our country. Perhaps someone has already been praying that. I think that is called imprecatory prayer. Of course we should be praying that about a lot of the politicians that harm our country, but, it seems especially appropriate now that Johnson is physically vulnerable.
That's just the way I see it.
271 posted on 12/13/2006 2:07:12 PM PST by ConservativeDude"

And here is an explanation of

Imprecatory prayer: To pray for evil or misfortune (malediction, anathema, execration)
http://www.moseshand.com/buildup/prayer.htm

The idea of these adult "Christians" sitting around in their underwear in their Mom's basements praying for a US Senator to die is truly frightening.

29. So I guess it was
imprecatory prayer that GW used against Saddam Hussein to bring his regime down. The only thing is that I think he used this prayer against Iraq & not Saddam. After all he is "The Decider" & he will decide who will receive judgment.
