2. Agreed....but here's what's going to happen
they will only start talking about it when they think it will benefit them polically....it will never be about the soldiers themselves.....

I am just sick of their tired Republican games...

3. I think that number is low.
In Vietnam, WIA rate was about 9 times the KIA rate. I figure with today's advanced medical treatment and body armor the ratio would be even higher, given the higher survivability of injuries today.

Regardless, the whole thing is a damn shame.

4. It's low because it's not all the U.S. wounded,
which is currently 46,880 plus the 2,937 killed.

5. Yes But we are not talking walking wounded
One Out of Four with mental problems like PTSD and on meds. Hell they recalled a kid with 70% VA benefits for PTSD and send him back to Iraq. You know that slows your reaction time gets you killed or wounded.

6. Tell me about it
My son gets back from secound Tour. He's got the thousand yard stare. Still having coping problems. Now talking about going back. I may be losing him to this. It's killing his mom.

8. Ewoden,
my heart goes out to you and your family! I'm glad your son is safely home. I hope you are reaching out to someone to help him cope with what undoubtedly was a traumatic experience: war.

If he does return to Iraq, he will be in my prayers with all our troops. Thank him for his courage and service.

Peace!

7. K&R the OP is good subsequent posts make it MUCH stronger...
My heart goes out to ewoden. I can only offer my humble prayers and encourage this caring mother to consider posting her story as an OP, so that others at DU can send similar positive energy, support and maybe even a solution. If two heads are better than one, what is two thousand heads and hearts worth?
