John Kerry Talks to Ed Schultz About Iraq Study Group Report

John Kerry was on The Ed Schultz Show today discussing the Iraq Study Group Report and Iraq. He’s been making the rounds today on the talk shows, with one more interview tonight at 10:00 pm EST with Anderson Cooper for CNN’s Anderson Cooper 360.

The upshot of the report: “The Iraq Study Group called the situation in Iraq “grave and deteriorating” Wednesday and recommended a radically different approach from President Bush’s current policy, including the withdrawal of nearly all U.S. combat troops by early 2008.”

If 99% of the people believe Bush is a lying war criminal for starting the Iraq War based on lies, rumor, and innuendo, why should we let Bush get off scot-free?

Democrats are in agreement on 90% of this and we should focus on that. I also really appreciated the Alan Simpson soundbite at the end and Ed's comments on it. Really worth listening to the entire piece.

A fine example of what progressive talk radio can and should be. Kudos to Kerry and Schultz--they were both outstanding (Big Ed's occasional lexical slip-ups do grate on my ears though--how he loves the words "grasp" and "unfold", throwing them in anywhere!). Kerry's genuine concern for the country and military shone through and Schultz was more reasoned and judicious than usual. SG
