I can't even stand it for a moment. You'll have to take my word for it, for some, witnessing torture/abuse can be worse (or at least as bad) than enduring it.

Now I like torture movies like "Hostel" only because I find that kind of dark psyche interesting. Plus, even though it makes you squirm, you know that the effects are not real and no one is actually getting hurt.
One does have to beg the question however if TV shows and movies such as "Hostel" are desensitizing these people and allowing this dark, abnormal psychology to override their moral attitudes about harming others. Or are these torturers actually psychopathic.

Like I said above, I am interested in humanity's dark psyche so watching this video, as disturbing as it is, has me questioning exactly what is going on in these tormentors' minds as they witnessed, and took part in this man's pain. What were they thinking? Did they think "What if that is me?" Did they think about that this could happen to their families, their loved ones. Or did they laugh and took perverse pleasure in seeing this man scream, beg and writhe on the floor as he was penetrated?

What could drive people to do this to others? Was it the pressure of "orders" or are these interrogators actually picked because they are known to take pleasure in hurting others. Are these people actually taught, brainwashed into thinking that their enemy is so vile that they deserve to be hurt thus helping to eliminate any guilt factor. After all history has shown that if a group of people are so despised and reviled, then it is ok to do all kinds of atrocities to them.

Questions... anyone care to share?

We've spent hundreds of billions of dollars for a defense that couldn't prevent Sept. 11th or even successfully scramble jets for it. Beyond Shock and Awe, exactly what do we have to show for our empty purse? Back when the bad apple in chief was still saying "we don't torture," the CIA types were saying that torture was not only immoral, it didn't work. Someone being sodomized might make up shit, so the intelligence gained wouldn't be any good. Yet, apparently, that's our policy because of some whacked theory about a unitary executive being able to do anything his alcohol-addled mind thinks might "keep us safe." This video was posted on DU today. It's a recording of an Arab man being sodomized by a broomstick as part of a US interrogation program. To say that the video is sickening is an understatement. I only managed to watch a few seconds of it and I still feel like vomiting 4 hours later.

People need to know what's being done in our name. The FCC won't let news outlets show the pictures of this war crime, but the screams of this poor man are enough to chill anyone's blood.

Make people listen to it. Anyone who can sit by and not fight this psychotic regime should be forced to listen to these screams 24/7. People need to know. We can't let this continue.

I wasn't expecting it to begin playing as soon as I clicked on it, and so was mentally unprepared for it. We need to send this to every news outlet, every talk show. I think if someone had the nerve to play this on TV almost every person in this country would barf at the same time.
