Time to Draft Howard Dean for President
He has done wonders for the party since he took the helm of the DNC and he will make a fine President.
He is a man that stands his ground and won't back down or "triangulate".
He will work to bring our boys back home.
He wll fight for working people instead of pandering to the corporate elites.

Howard Dean speaks for me!!!

1. ME TOO!
None of the other "contenders" at this point even come close - except maybe Gore.

2. He speaks for me too, but I don't think he'll run.
If we can get another nominee like Dean in '08, and keep Dean where he is then we're in great shape.

3. I do hope he'll give it another try,
Not even necessarily in '08. Although if neither Feingold nor Gore ends up running, then maybe '08 would be a good time for it...

5. No it is not time to draft Dean.
I would have loved to have seen Dean as President; he was my guv for 11 years, and I think he would have been a very effective pres. But he gave his word, and he won't go back on it. Besides, he's doing a great job right where he is.

Please provide a link. I'd like to see this.

7. He never said, "never again". He did say he wouldn't run in 2008 if elected

27. He did say that. And he won't go back on it.
But he didn't say he'd turn down VP if asked. 8 years of Gore/Dean followed by 8 more of Dean/Whoever works for me.

18. OK, so not in 2008 . . .
But if we go with one of the stiffs that are running now, the Rethugs will possibly win and he might need to run in 2012.

13. He didn't! He did however vow not to run in 08, and I agree, he won't
go back on his word. I still remember him being on a talk show and the host said"Other party chairmen have run for Prez." Howard gave thatwonderful smile and said "Yea, but they didn't win!"

I would love to see him run again some day, but I do believe he'll stick to his word and it won't be in 08.

11. But his country needs him in charge.
The current batch of Dem runners do absolutely fuck-all for me. No excitement whatsoever.

If Gore would finally get off his ass and declare his candidacy, I'd stll be happy. Or even Clark would make me smile. But anyone else? Not likely. (Sidenote: I know you like Kerry, so I'll say I'm sorry. I don't dislike him, he just needs a little more work. He's still young enough to run further down the road.))

25. Do you really think he's done reforming the party?
Until that is done, the infrastructure won't be there. We need a strong party for 2008. He won't have time to run if he's chairman. I don't want him cheating the job he has now to run for prez.

He's young. Let him do it in 2012.

I'll take Gore in the interim.

It's just nice to see us talking about someone besides what's her face.

34. The party needs him in charge
We need to establish our party in every single state. Dean is the guy to do it.

I'd like to see Dean running the party while Gore ran for the WH.

worth a look....

14. I'd love it but he'd be breaking his word.
And I just don't see him doing that. Personally, I'm hoping Clark enters the picture soon. I think he probably comes as close to Dean's mindset than anyone else right now. Of course, if anyone else thinks there's another candidate who comes close to Dean's beliefs, vision and style of blunt realism, I'm all ears.

29. I could go with either Clark or Gore as this point.
My only concerns with Gore is whether he'll choose another lieberman or let the wrong people run his campaign again, but based on what I've seen since 2000 I have to think he's learned a lesson or two.

19. No, I like him where he is.
He's doing a brilliant job at the DNC. It would be a shame to step down and make a futile run for President. I really respect the guy, but I don't see him winning the primaries.

24. No, "The universe tends to unfold as it should"
And the Doctor is needed where he is. His work is not finished, and he'll keep his word. Deaniacs should fret not. The history books will properly reflect the importance of his work, even if he never becomes the POTUS.
