1. I supported Nader in 2000.
Basically I didn't like Gore, Bush was fuckin' stupid, Perot wasn't running, and Buchanan was Pat Buchanan. I actually voted for who I thought would do the best job, or at least the candidate whose ideals most agreed with mine.

2. I do and I don't. I'm consistent.
Lieberman is worse by far, as Nader never pretended to be anything but an enemy to Democrats.

3. I was very unhappy with Gore in 2000, so voted for Nader.
I probably would have gritted my teeth and voted for Gore if I had thought that he had a chance in my state, but he didn't and I didn't.

I like him alot better now.

I absolutely loathe Joe Lieberman. His being on the ticket with Gore in 2000 certainly didn't help my opinion of the ticket.

I was very unhappy with Nader in '04 because he didn't seem to grasp how important it was that we get rid of Bush. In retrospect, I'm not very happy with his campaigning in a close and crucial state like Florida in 2000. He never had a shot at getting elected president, but he did probably help to push the Florida numbers in Bush's favor, and therefore helped get us stuck with him.

In both men's cases I think there are some very serious narcissism issues.

13. i think the Guy would make a strong fusion candidate, esp if Hilary runs
AND he's heads and shoulders above Guiliani, esp in the black community.

5. You took the words right out of my mouth.
I agree with every word you said on there and felt/feel the exact same way.

Knowing what I know now, I'd have voted for Gore, though it wouldn't have been a very enthusiastic vote.

6. It's a mistake to assume
that Green Party voters would vote for Democrats is their candidate were not on the ballot; as it's a mistake to assume that Libertarians would vote Republican were their candidates not on the ballot. Votes really belong to the voter, and it is pure hubris to think they belong to anyone else.

My friends who vote third party have finally convinced me of this. Personally, I've always voted a straight Democratic ticket. OK, sometimes, I've had to push a couple levers back up, but I still don't split.

11. Canada has three parties and the middle one usually wins. Cause it is
in the middle of people's belief systems. Repuke base at 30 %. Far left base of Dems is at 20+ percent. The ones who get the middle win the elections.

15. real fundamental difference between the two
in that Lieberman had a realistic chance of winning and Nader didn't. Nader could only function as a protest vote of sorts, and, at worst, a spoiler.

They're hypocrites, with double standards.

Not hard to explain at all.
