Murtha- thick with lobbyists... and yes that damn ABSCAM video... http://www.motherjones.com/mojoblog/archives/2006/11/2918_jack_murthas_k.html http://astuteblogger.blogspot.com/2006/11/will-steny-hoyer-out-utterly-corrupt.html

Hoyer- He might as well move to K-Street

"In the last few days, both the Democratic Leadership Council and Hoyer’s own allies on Capitol Hill have mimicked Lieberman’s tactics in an effort to reposition Hoyer as one of the longtime leaders of the global anti-war movement. The DLC’s vice president, for instance, proclaims on his website that “It’s not as though Steny has done anything to undermine House Democrats in their criticism of Bush Iraq policies.” Similarly, Hoyer ally Rep. Ellen Tauscher (D-CA) appeared on MSNBC last night to claim Hoyer has “been very supportive in the last two years for a phased redeployment” from Iraq and that “I don’t see any difference certainly on Iraq” between Hoyer or Murtha..." http://stevegilliard.blogspot.com/2006/11/revenge-of-dlc.html

Jeesh, can't we do better than that?

And putting Reid in again?

The Repugs are no better though...

Their once and future whipping boy, Trent Lott!

There he is showing us the size of his chance of ever becoming President.

Hey, and why not AIPAC Princess Jane Harman for the Intelligence Chair while we are at it! http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/15419753/site/newsweek/

WASHINGTON HAS LEARNED NOTHING AND THE DISENGAGE WITH THE AMERICAN PEOPLE CONTINUES!!!

In fact, let's all join hands with Nancy 'no impeach' Pelosi and sing KUMBAYAH... extreme :sarcasm:

2. "There he is showing us the size of his chance of ever becoming President."
That's why they made him whip...he won't be bothered with campaigning for 2008.

4. We have to wait two more years before leadership can be challenged.
We won more than we ever thought in this election....but it's going to take time to sort out being the Majority Party and we have slim margins still.

Better to keep with Reid and Pelosi...and I'm not a fan of either of them...but changing leaders now with Bushie still running the show would not be the best thing much as many of us would like to start afresh...

Much clean up needs to be done and we have to hope the Chairs of Committees have the power to get the investigations done, inspite of who the "leadership is."

8. I think you're right. These navigations take time.
And, it's good to see real debate in Congress again, even if it's all on our side.

Let the other side stultify from their suffocating scripts. We're got life and energy on our side. Not a bad combination.

5. Well, that's what a free and open exchange of ideas looks like.
Unlike the repukes, Democratic politicians tend to be open and aboveboard with their disagreements and the corporate media just eats it up. They think it is a sign of weakness when it is really the lack of backroom deals that hide responsibility from the public.
