GOP: "In Case You Missed It: Democrats Still Have No Plan For Iraq"
Democrats Have No Real Iraq Policy:

The New York Times: "The Democrats will not be able to savor their victory for long... The Democrats will also need to look forward - and quickly. So far they have shared slogans, but no real policy. During the campaign, their most common call was for a "phased redeployment" - a euphemism for withdrawal - of American troops starting before the end of this year." (Editorial, "Democrats And Iraq," The New York Times, 11/12/06)

You know, this reminds me of warning someone against doing something incredibly stupid, like "don't take the boat out into the hurricane", or "don't cut the elevator cable while we're in it" or "don't bank the plane like that, you'll put us in freefall", and then once it happens, they say you can't lead because you have no plan to get us out of the predicament, so they might as well be in charge.

I'd like someone who's not so damned stupid as to get us into predicaments in the first place. Hey, maybe we don't have a decent plan for Iraq, because there's no darned good options left, because somebody blew them all. Duh.

1. Of course, the republiCONs have had five+ years
to make the mess. Perhaps they should at least wait until the Dems take office to criticise them for having no plan. Hmmmm?

4. sheesh...
just over a week post-election and already they are trying to shift the blame to us. Perhaps they forgot that Bush is still in charge of the military. Regardless, we still are a month and a half away from having a majority, so any criticism now is meritless.

8. Driven off a cliff by a madman
Democrats tied up and gagged in the back seat. We finally work the ropes loose, and as the car plunges to the canyon floor below, the madman in the front seat sneers over his shoulder, "So, what's your plan for getting us out of this mess?"

Fookin' brilliant.

12. I Agree
And if the posters on here are going to blame the Repulicans, and yes it is all there fault.

But if it going to be finger pointing. America will be done with Democrats two days after they get sworn in.

And no, I don't have any ideas. I just know what we are doing is not working.

And just blaming Republicans is not a plan.

13. Kucinich 10 point plan
Kucinich 10 point plan

1. The United States must ask the United Nations to manage the oil assets of Iraq until the Iraqi people are self-governing.

2. The United Nations must handle all the contracts: No more Halliburton sweetheart deals, No contracts to Bush Administration insiders, No contracts to campaign contributors. All contracts must be awarded under transparent conditions.

3. The United States must renounce any plans to privatize Iraq. It is illegal under both the Geneva and the Hague Conventions for any nation to invade another nation, seize its assets, and sell those assets. The Iraqi people, and the Iraqi people alone must have the right to determine the future of their country's resources.

4. The United States must ask the United Nations to handle the transition to Iraqi self-governance. The UN must be asked to help the Iraqi people develop a Constitution. The UN must assist in developing free and fair elections.

5. The United States must agree to pay for what we blew up.

6. The United States must pay reparations to the families of innocent Iraqi civilian noncombatants killed and injured in the conflict.

7. The United States must contribute financially to the UN peacekeeping mission.

8. The United Nations, through its member nations, will commit 130,000 peacekeepers to Iraq on a temporary basis until the Iraqi people can maintain their own security.

9. UN troops will rotate into Iraq, and all US troops will come home.

10. The United States will abandon policies of "preemption" and unilateralism and commit to strengthening the UN.
