There'sbeen a lot of postsabout 08. I'mnot sure I WANT a Dem
total one Party rule again! I haven't decidedyet if I prefer both houses of congress to be Dem and have a Pub Prez, or a Dem Prez and only one house of Congress. I simply don't trust ANY politicians enough to give up oversight, and it sure looks like if they're all from one party you don't get any at all!

2. Do you understand my point? I don't trust the Pubs either, but
I'm sure not convinced that I could trust a total Dem control either.

I remember for many years I would hear the news guys, the real ones like Harry Reasoner, and Walter Cronkite, and a few after those, would always say, it looks like the American people prefer a divided gov't. They would say that almost all the time when they were discussing a recent election results.

I suppose it's insane to think we could ever change to a parlimentary system where you had real individual representation. If the Dems got 30% of the votes, they got 30% of the Congress. The winner take allreally gets to supporting all kind of mischief, like redistricting, shorting voting machines in heavy minority districts, etc.

3. Screw the Parliamentary system
That's what is in place in Japan, and it leaves a LOT to be desired. The only advantage to it is that during debates, they can catcall some idiotic speaker.

4. You can trust Dems with total control
...because we are so internally divided anyway, there are so many factions that would compete with each other if the Republicans ever went away, that you can be assured of competition and oversight. This is way different than the republican monolithic heirarchy structure under Bush.
