Democratic primary loser Lieberman looks like a November winner

HARTFORD, Conn. --A wry grin on his face, Sen. Joe Lieberman stepped into the brilliant fall sunshine after a Baptist church service and declared his plans for the campaign's final days.

Sign up for: Globe Headlines e-mail | Breaking News Alerts "Actually, I'm planning to go into hibernation," he joked to reporters. "I'm going to be in prayer for the next nine days."

Lieberman has plenty to smile about these days.

Less than a week before Tuesday's elections, Lieberman, 64, appears to be on-track for a fourth term as statewide polls show him with a double-digit lead.

I replaced it because the one below was from Australia, above is the American Presses substitution for reporting.

Lieberman cruising to US Senate victory

Reporter: Michael Rowland
MARK COLVIN: It's been one of the biggest comeback stories of the US election campaign.

Three months after being kicked out of the Democrats over his strong support of the Iraq war, the former vice-presidential candidate Joe Lieberman is cruising to victory next week as an independent candidate for the Senate seat that he's held for 18 years.

Should the Senate result prove particularly tight, the Democrats who turned their backs on him may then find themselves relying on Senator Lieberman to win future votes.

That settles that. This is what substitutes for reporting these days.

6. check the editing "Three months after being kicked out of the Democrats "
this is blatant editing to perpetuate the propaganda. The article obviously said "kicked out of the Democratic Party".

Could you imagine being the journalist who originally wrote the article and seeing that the 'editors' chop, cut and paste your work to placate the higher ups? Anyone remember the movie Good Morning Vietnam? those two army twins that edited every news article to remove or change the reality of what was going on?

Its the DEMOCRATIC Party NOT THE Democrats Party. I despise these people.

9. They're stupid.
I think we should force them to publish a retraction. The election will prove them wrong.

17. Will CT Dems feel proud to have elected GOP senator?

So, all these Lieberman supporters who call themselves Democrats -- will they still be smiling and congratulating themselves when Lieberman continues to lend aid and support to the GOP minority in the Senate?

18. Or when he
decides he is too "independent" to caucus with the Democrats and gives the Republicans the majority with Cheney casting the deciding vote.

19. Your WRONG...
not ALL the Lieberman supporters call themselves Democrats. The Majority of Lieberman supporters call themselves REPUBLICANS, the remainder of Lieberman supporters call themselves the Democrats that lost in the primary. Put the two together and you have a victory for the Republican known as Lieberman.

20. I think you may have mis-read my post.
I didn't say ALL Lieberman supporters call themselves Democrats.

I said will all the Lieberman supporters who call themselves Democrats be happy to have elected someone who will support the GOP. I'm fully aware of where No-mentum's campaign support is coming from.
