I was sitting at my desk Thursday afternoon when I got a long distance telephone call from a good source who wanted to talk a little presidential politics.
''Have you paid much attention to the Clark campaign?'' my source asked. ''What do you think of him?''
After giving my thoughts, my source told me she didn't know much about Gen. Wesley Clark until one of her former students urged her to meet him.

It's good to keep up with various political candidates in the media, but seeing and hearing them in person has made me a more informed voter.
Just think, wouldn't it be good if more voters really had a chance to spend some time with a political candidate? Perhaps we might put better people in office than we sometimes do.
