If 99 people out of a population of 100 got zero dollars in tax cuts..

... and the 100th got $100,000 in cuts, the average tax cut for the population would be $1,000 per person. The GOP'ers assert that this means if the cuts were rescinded, the average tax increase (notwithstanding that such an action would not be an increase) would be $1,000 per person. These farcical averages are being mentioned in campaign ads throughout the country, hopefully with little effect.

Any GOP'er who uses tax increase averages in their ads intend to misinform and deceive. Let us ensure that they don't 'get away' with it!

5. Didn't lots of folks find they owed more come that next April

after their little $300 checks? Wasn't it more of an advance against any refund they may have been entitled to come spring?

I had friends that were furious when they filed their taxes! I asked them why they thought the gov't would hand them $300 with no strings attached? I am sorry to say, I do have friends that are clueless as to the ways of the world, and like to live with their head in the sand, until the moment they get biten on the ass. This was one of those ass-biting moments for them.

7. An advance, not a tax cut was what it was.

Even that was trumpeted as a means to spur the economy in that those who got them were more likely to spend them immediately. Real tax cuts went to the wealthy who, ostensibly, were to invest them, creating more jobs. I'd suspect, though, that luxury purchases increased at the same rate that taxes were cut for the wealthy!

8. YES! The junta KNOWS the way to make the economy better

is to put more money into the hands of the working poor, and the rest of working America! They had to give the numbers a nudge and they handed out money (along with IOUs most didn't know they were signing).

But the bastards refuse to raise the minimum wage, which would REALLY help. They don't want a better economy. They are fine where they are. They just need to fudge the numbers now and then so voters will think things are getting better.

Net result for most people was around $zero.
