Carlson attacks Ford, praises Kinky Friedman for religious themed ads
Carlson praised Kinky Friedman, denounced Ford Jr., over religion-themed ads
While discussing a new campaign ad by Rep. Harold Ford Jr., in which Ford appears in a church, Tucker Carlson criticized Ford for "drag religion into the political arena." He added that "it's wrong, it's immoral, indeed, Democrats have argued, to imply that God's on your side." But Carlson praised an ad by Kinky Friedman, in which Friedman "quot Jesus from the Gospel of John." Carlson said, "I'm for it."

1. Carlson's dad is raising money for Scooter Libby's defense.
Is there any doubt what Tucker's designated role is on the tube? Republican's own the Jesus franchise...can't have Democrats infringing on their brand ID.

2. Ford's ad
came AFTER his opponent Corker ran one in which he sanctimoniously spoke of a church mission trip to Haiti (which he said he learned about while sitting in church reading the church bulletin, in a numbing bit of overkill), and how that trip changed his life. Corker thus had already blatantly played the religion card in the race, trying to establish himself as "the Christian candidate." I suppose Carlson didn't mention that, though....

6. Makes a big difference. I knew Tucker was a tool, but I was wondering
about Ford's ad anyway.

9. Oh that's right
I forgot about that ad. Now Corker is pumping up his family in a recent ad wanting you to "meet the family." It's really disgusting while he brings his family in and than turns around and bashes Ford's.

8. Go figure
A freakin hypocrite. If I'm remembering the ad correctly the only upset that people had over the Ford ad was he was in a church. Well yeah because it's apparent if you listen to Ford speak that his religion plays a big role in his life. At least he wasn't quoting scripture. Heh. Kinky is just like the rest of the republicans.
