Why is Nedra Pickler (AP) calling this Bush's "last." campaign?
Are we supposed to believe that Bush won't be speaking at the 2008 RNC on behalf of the next slimeball his party nominates?

"Bush labors to save GOP in last campaign

By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer 12 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - Twenty-eight years after his first campaign, George W. Bush is waging his last. If the polls are right, the president could wind up experiencing the sting of defeat for the first time since that 1978 race."

6. Unfortunately, I can picture Bush walking out on stage...
...in Minnesota at the 2008 RNC to a long-lasting standing ovation.

9. About half of that ovation...
will come via closed-circuit television from Leavenworth, KS. Many of the delegates will be calling that city home by then.

10. I doubt Bush would do anything on behalf of the next nominee, if it
didn't somehow benefit him. This campaign now is to salvage Repubs in Congress to benefit himself, to get some more things done from his agenda. After he closes the book on his Presidency, it's off to Paraguay. Screw the party. And I'm sure the feeling will be likewise.

17. Nah,
Pickler's no bushbot, even if she's not a terribly good journalist, and of course it's bush's last campaign. He'll be gone in 2 years, and completely hamstrung for his last 2.

18. It IS his last campaign...
After this election, he has no others. He will (thankgawd) retire when this term is done.

It'll be interesting to see what he does as a retired POTUS. Jimmy Carter is busy making peace, and building houses for the poor; Bill Clinton is tackling AIDS in Africa. I wonder what Georgie will do? He'll probably do what his father does, and sit on the boards of a bunch of corporations, but it is left to be seen, I guess....

19. Election pretenses will be dropped after they pull this one
Manufacturing of reality to seem we still have a democracy will become moot once the power is seized completely. Watch for "unitary power" to become "God given"
