RNC Releases New Web Ad Entitled 'Tax Man'

10/23/2006 10:31:00 AM

To: National Desk

Contact: Tracey Schmitt of the Republican National Committee, 202-863-8614

WASHINGTON, Oct. 23 /U.S. Newswire/ -- The Republican National Committee (RNC) today released an "America Weakly" Web ad entitled "Tax Man." The ad is co-written by Myrna Sokoloff and directed by renowned Hollywood filmmaker David Zucker, who has directed mega hits such as "Airplane" "Naked Gun," "Scary Movie 3" and "Scary Movie 4." The ad is a humorous look into Democrat tax policies and what it would mean for American taxpayers if they regained majorities in the U.S. House and Senate. "Tax Man" will be e-mailed to millions of Republican supporters, grassroots activists and all state parties. The Web ad is available for viewing now on LINK REMOVED: See Above

"Tax Man"

AUDIO

What if you woke up a year from today...

...the Democrats had taken over...and you were able to see their new taxes?

See every nickel you spend...

...see every dollar you lose.

See your taxes taken, every minute of every hour, week after week.

And from the day we're born, no matter where you live, no matter what you do, no matter who you are: man, woman, young, old, East Coast, West Coast, Midwest or Deep South...

...until the day we die, they will never stop. They will never quit.

And yet, some people don't think it's enough. If Democrats take over Congress, they will raise taxes by 2.4 trillion dollars to keep up with their reckless spending.

This taxation is insidious and it is growing. The burden increasingly falls on the average American family. Nothing is safe, nothing is sacred. So maybe the question isn't "Can you afford more of this?"...

...But "can you afford more of them?"

1. What if you woke up TODAY
And saw your tax dollars being pissed away to fat-cat defense industries and corrupt contractors?

"Their reckless spending"??? Last time I checked, it was the GOP that pissed away the surplus and bankrupted America. This ad is as divorced from reality as Dubya. Blame the Dems for the things the GOP has done.

what if you woke up tomorrow to an internet under tight government control?
what if you woke up and figured out that high gas prices are the worst tax of all?
what if you woke up and found that your job has been exported?
what if you woke up to hear your child had been killed in a war that profits only a few?
WAKE UP!

5. "they will raise taxes by 2.4 trillion dollars to keep up with their reckless spending."
Umm, hasn't the Republican Party been in charge for the past six years or so? So, therefore, wouldn't any issues regarding present-day "reckless spending" ultimately be their fault, not that of the Democrats?

6. Sometimes, I view your threads Human Torch, just to see that picture
:) What were we talking about? Oh yeah fuck the Gop! Greedy Bastards! They would be happy to bankrupt, neuter or drown the government in a bathtub, because then nobody would control the corporations and the oligarchs, the people would get screwed without regard. All they give a damn about is money, and it's totally impossible for them to have too much, and their stupid short sightedness will cost them far more in the long run, they are the ultimate in being penny wise and pound foolish!

7. I think it's a well made ad, quite honestly
Even kind of funny, but not effective. Fact is, the gop is doing every thing it can to get them to turn out and all they can find is some b rate movie director who's claim to fame was "scary movie" and make an ad for them.

8. **Democrat** tax policies.
News services should have a policy stating that they will refuse to publish anything that deliberately misnames organizations or people.
