should switch their party affiliation to DEM if they want their vote counted properly.
For Bush to have won in 2004, every registered Republican had to have voted Republican, plus some. They claimed that more DEMS crossed over and voted REP, then REPs who voted DEM, which was a crock but impossible to prove.
For example, let's say you have 100,000 registered voters. 60000 DEM, 35000 REP, 5000 IND.
The vote count is 50000 Bush/Cheney, 45000 Kerry/Edwards 5000/no vote or other.
That means that all 35000 REP voted for Bush, plus at least 10,000 DEMS.
This is a pattern I saw repeated in almost every county in FL that Bush won.
The best way to circumvent them this time around, is to strongly encourage REP & IND to register DEM. If we can show a big switch in the Registered Voter numbers from REP to DEM, then it will make it a little harder to claim otherwise.
